Hey!

I got off to a good start at 5:45 AM this morning with a 6-mile run.  I did a 10-minute warm-up followed by 15 minutes of strides then I did 3 x 1600m Hill repeats.  I walked half the cooldown and felt lactate in my legs most of the day but I think things went well.

Have a great day!

That sounds like an invigorating start to the morning! Easy day here today--45 minute trainer ride; mostly Z2 with some short high-cadence pickups in Z4.

PT'd within an inch of my life this morning--passive ROM (otherwise known as legally sanctioned torture that one pays good money for) with plenty of gross crunchy scar tissue release (I call it Rice Krispies) plus more weight work than I would ordinarily do for tri training. Thought my arm was going to fall off. It's a very odd sensation to have only one arm exhausted--really felt like a hard IM swim on just one side!

Easy 6 mile run this evening on the treadmill.

Be nice to your therapist, we can choose to keep pushing the PROM a little further if you’re mean to us! I like teaching my patients self PROM techniques, especially those that are apprehensive. We tend to loosen up when we are ranging ourselves since we know where the sweet spot is.

Keep up the rehab!

Yep, I am doing a lot of PROM to myself. Actually 4-5 X 20 minutes a day on the days I don't have PT and 4 X when I do have it. It's pretty crazy--can't imagine how someone does this while working full time. Maybe my therapist doesn't like me or I am too easy on myself or something.

I can definitely push myself into the discomfort zone, but he gets beyond that. Last few sessions haven't been quite as bad, but I have literally been screaming at some of them. Part of the issue is that I have a slightly wacko oversensitive nerve and probably tighter than normal ligaments from a previous injury to the same elbow--it makes things tougher for both of us!
