Feet on the street at 5:30. 7 Miles of watching the sunrise, to be fair sometimes it was at my back.

Came home and made some Americana, ( I am a Canadian Transplant) Fried egg sunny side up, on top of grilled cheese with some fresh tomatoes on the side. I will never forget the first time I saw a cheeseburger being served between two grilled cheese sandwiches, never!

Breakfast of champions.

Also for those of you that have run IM and/or are training for it, power to you. My legs are trashed and I am not near daily/weekly that you cats get into.

Cheers,

Steve

I hit the road at 5:45 AM.  I did 9 miles.  I tried to say off the hills to that I wouldn't trash my legs but the gods I ran into a few weeks ago were out this morning so I head back to the hilly route where I do most of my shorter runs.

Hmm...Fried Eggs Sounds good.  I will have to hurry through the Farm Chores So I have 5 minutes to fry some.

I visualized our "Mountain God" who sends the hail LOL..... Thunderstorms every day for about a week here. Going for a run is like playing Russian roulette with weather. Oregon was much more predictable--you could pretty much look west and see the rain coming in and be able to tell from the clouds when it would hit and how long it would last.

1800 yard swim and 50-ish minute run planned for later.

As for IM training, I think my legs were trashed the entire time. For me it was the biking that killed them. Didn't think the run mileage was all that extreme, except it was almost all done on tired legs. Ugh.

Finishing off May with a scheduled rest day. I haven’t taken one in over two weeks. My body is starting to talk back a little when I get up in the mornings.

2 hrs planned on the trainer tomorrow.

Yes, "dogs".  They were pretty awesome but they were nothing like running past Mt Olympus and getting lightning bolts thrown at you.

The fried eggs were great.

We have had a really crazy year for weather.  We have had hail all around us but I personally haven't been in any Hail this year.

If I ever start a local running club I am going to name it the McAlester Storm Running Club.

The worst running experience that I had with crazy weather was my Freshman year of College.  I red-shirted for the University track team one semester and while the varsity team was at meets on the weekends I did my long runs solo.  I was at the University of Wyoming so anything over 50 degrees was a good weather day and we would run in shorts and a Tee Shirt.  One Saturday early in the after noon I peaked my head outside and it felt like about 60 degrees and the skies were blue so I threw on some running shorts and a tee shirt and headed out for a 90 minute run.  After 5 miles the weather started to change and about 15 minutes later i was getting snowed on and was at least 40 minutes from home.  Fortunately I knew some guys that lived about 1-1/2 miles from when I was at so I made it to their place and hung out for an hour then one of them gave me a ride home.

Above is what I am talking about. Every run seems to be on tired legs. Oh well, this too shall pass.

Through in 1400m in the pool as that was the time that was allotted to me today, hahahaha.

2,000 swim, which was my goal for today.

Will do some bike and run (on tired legs) later in the evening.

1800 yard swim and 55 minute run today. For once, the weather was perfect--sunny and 70's; ran along the Boise River.

Scrambled eggs, not fried, for me! (Pizza tonight.)

Oh...and I rode a bike outside for the first time since February 16. Just taking my hybrid home about two miles from some adjustments at the shop so I can ride it comfortably. Headed to Oregon this weekend and hoping to get in a ride on the Row River Trail there.

Your college run sounds like my experience at the Beijing Marathon (ran it one year when I lived there). 60's and sunny at the start; I figured it would warm up so I was in a singlet and shorts. But a cold front hit around Mile 6. Cold wind, rain, and finally sleet and temps in low 40's by the end. I had some friends and colleagues who were supposed to be cheering at designated points along the course and began desperately wishing I would see them so I could beg some clothing off them--a jacket, sweatshirt, even a T-shirt would be warmer than my singlet. But security for the event was ridiculous--the ENTIRE 26 mile route was blocked off by policemen (or at least men in official police-like uniforms) standing with arms interlocked. They must have found the tallest dudes in China--even at almost 5'8", I could not see behind the security cordon. So no more clothes. I did finally spy our PE teacher (who was an official with China's track and field association) about 3/4 mile from the end, but by that time, it just didn't matter anymore. Still remember this as the time I ran an entire marathon (in, I think, 3:23?) and never got warm! On the plus side, there were finishers' shirts, and I somehow placed in my age group that day (or maybe there was a special division for foreign amateurs?) and won a cheapo nylon sweatsuit, which kept me alive until I got home!
