Hit the trainer, on at 5:40 and off at 7:00. Starting to add to my midweek bikes.
Living in a relatively small town and not being able to drive is really cramping my swim training. I know I will get through the swim, no problem, but I don't want to be using all my energies there. Oh Well. Hoping to pass cardio & neuro and get license back end of July.
Today was a run day. I was on the road at 6:00 AM for a 5-mile run. I did a warm-up, 7 x 400m repeats (73-77 sec) with1:45 walking recovery), and cool down. The cool down was also a good bit of walking. I am not used to speed work and my legs like to go straight into recovery mode after I am done with the repeats and so the cool down is a mental hurdle to keep the legs moving.
72mi on the rails:trails; fourth straight day on the bike, mixed up with fast group/solo/long climbs/flat and in aerobars. No goal other than get some base, which is MIA so far this year...
8:30 PM 4 mile progressive run completed. Ended up with mile 4 coming a few seconds shy of my 5k race pace. Thinking about registering for a 5k this weekend just to see if I can find a rabbit to chase.
Finally made it to the one hour mark by doing a few extra loops on Pre's Trail. Quite possibly one of the best places in the world to do a run! Headed back to Idaho tomorrow; did not realize that if I am a finalist for the position I just interviewed for I will need to come back, probably next week, to teach a sample lesson, so it's possible I'll be back here in Oregon quite soon. Oh well--it's really where I'd most like to be anyway!
