Hello World,

Neuro yesterday was dumb. Apparently during an EEG they found "active seizure signals" or something along those lines. What that means is two more years of meds that make me drowsy and otherwise mess with me. The positive is that all other tests show that my melon is in fair shape with no noticeable damage from not having oxygen for 15 minutes or so, and as long as I don't deviate off the suggested rx course and the cardio team signs off, I get my license back on 7/22.

What does that mean?

I went out for 7 miles this morning. It was fun because it was a battle...hahahaha. The other day was another of my best runs of the year, today was a battle. I didn't quit until I was done. WIN

Trying to find a ride to the YMCA so I can swim at lunch.

6:00 AM: 5-mile running workout with one mile warm up with strides, 3x1600m @ sprint triathlon run race pace leaving every time I hit a 10-minute mark, 1-mile cooldown.

This week was listed as a build week but I didn't get any lunchtime workouts in this week.  My daughter is in a community production of Disney's Frozen Junior.  Performances are tonight and tomorrow.  I am helping backstage with props and we have had rehearsals from 5 PM - 9 PM every evening this week.  We didn't get out until closer to 10 PM last night,  instead of staying at the office until 6:00 PM or 6:30 PM to keep up with work I have been staying in during lunch all week.   So, without two-a-days, and the run days going back to 45 minutes rather than the 60-70 minutes that I had been doing I am feeling pretty good.  Give it another 4-6 build weeks and I won't feel so sprightly

No training action past two days due to travel to Eugene (Wednesday) and horrible weather (Thursday) here. Forgot the old Oregon adage, "Summer starts July 5". Just as we were coming off the pass from Central Oregon, ran into a line of violent thunderstorms, lots of limbs down all the way into town. Below is a pic I took out the window of the car with my phone--all that was missing was the theme song from "Twin Peaks"! Then a busy day of visiting my new school and house hunting amid periodic showers and hail. Just hadn't brought the right clothes for cold, wet running and hotel fitness room and pool were a bust.

Got in my long run today--1:30 of glorious miles, mostly on Pre's Trail. So happy I can come back to Eugene's forgiving wood chip trails. The older I get, the more I appreciate them! We found a house today--the good news is it will be a very convenient commute. The bad news...not from a fitness point of view, I guess, is that, like our old place, getting to/from it on foot requires some serious hill work!
