Swim
Comments: I forgot how aggressive the swim starts are. Punching, kicking, jockeying for position. Man, I got creamed. This was my first open water swim in a long time so it took me way too long to get into a groove. Before I knew it the swim was over. What would you do differently?: Buy a wetsuit and practice more in open water. Transition 1
Comments: I was still pretty cold from the swim, so I took the extra seconds to put on socks. I'm glad I did but when it came time to mount I had trouble clicking in. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: I dropped my water bottle early on in the ride but just after a hammer gel, so my mouth was gummy for the ride. Man, was I angry. My first road ride in a long time so I enjoyed the scenery a bit too much. My cadence was slow and so was my speed. Got passed left and right. I should have pushed harder. What would you do differently?: Get more time in the saddle, fewer rides on the stationary bike. Transition 2
Comments: No real complaints except coming up to the dismount area was uphill so I didn't feel comfortable taking me feet out of my shoes. I almost fell over because I got too close to the dismount line with my left foot still attached. What would you do differently?: Practice getting my feet out and riding atop my shoes. Run
Comments: I wanted to walk right out of the gate but I didn't! It was a slow run, but I was happy. It was my regular pace but at the end of the race. Since I'm just back to running, I couldn't have asked for more. What would you do differently?: Get more hours in running. Post race
Warm down: A gatorade, 2 diet cokes, a PB&J, 2 chocolate chip cookies. I DESERVED EVERY CALORIE! Walked around and was greeted by my hubby (Who finished 30/125 and ran the finish with me) What limited your ability to perform faster: Having a baby 3 months ago. This was the start of my racing season, and I'm still in new baby mode. Event comments: The race was run very well, I had a good time. I don't know what I expected of myself, but I had a good time. My favorite memory will be the body marking of "NEW MOM!!" on my calf. Most people that passed me (and there were quite a few) congratulated me on the new baby. Last updated: 2006-09-19 12:00 AM

Hit the potty a few times. Walked down to the water and fiddled with my transition gear more than necessary.
No warmup except for leaping over the huge cravass to see the finish line! LOL
