Had to burn off all the BBQ I consumed over the 4th!

2.5 hours on the trainer. Easy Z2 with a few 2-3 minute low cadence efforts mixed in.

1.3 mile brick run on the treadmill.

Everything felt good. Hoping to get out on the real roads in the next couple weeks to see how zwift is translating.

Happy training!

I got in a two hour ride on the road this morning with 5 mins @ 70% FTP, 5 mins @ 75% FTP, 5 mins @ 80% FTP, 100 mins at 85% FTP, then 5 minutes at 80% FTP. It was a cooler day than we have been having.  I felt it was about a perfect ride.

I would be dead after 1:40 at 85%, I think! That level of fitness is just not there yet. (Plus the minor issue that I can't really ride outside right now...). 90 minute trainer ride here, mostly mid to high Z2 with some Z4-5 pickups. I started working with my coach again, for just bike and run, to avoid boredom and provide some structure and accountability. Trying to get back the high end--I was working through a beginner cycling program since April and haven't done much above about 80%.

Then we walked into town to check out Fun Days. Not so fun as it was about 90 degrees and not much shade!

85% FTP felt easy after the VO2MAX work outs I have been doing on the indoor bike trainer during the week. Outdoor rides always seem more bearable to me.

Yep, I very much miss those now that the weather is nice. I think I might be okay with a few hours on a smooth bike trail, but the nearest one is up in Sun Valley, about three hours' drive away (Greenbelt in Boise is too "busy" for training). Local roads are just too rough for comfort right now. We tried to ride our favorite rail trail (Row River) when we were down in Oregon last month, but it was badly damaged last winter and closed much of the summer for repairs. Sigh.
