Good Morning BT!

4:00 AM: 18-mile run.  I ran without the headlamp so I could get a better view of the Perseids meteor shower.  I saw two just after 4 AM before I actually started running.  I took a minute or to watch before I started the run.  I saw 5 more shooting starts during the run but they were all out of my peripheral vision so by the time I looked to see them they were about gone.  I still thoroughly enjoyed the run.  I broke out my new Asics DS trainers for this run and tried the chocolate Honeystinger waffles (mile 6) and the French Toast Gu (mile 12) for the first time.  I broke this up into three segments.     The first 6 miles I ran at open 1/2 Marathon pace plus 2-1/2 minutes. Miles 6-12 I dropped things down to 2 minutes over half Marathon race pace.  Then I took two miles easy (somewhere between the 1-6 mile and 7-12 mile pace).  The last four miles I finished at 1-1/2 minutes over half marathon race pace. The legs feel good.  I will do it all again in 3 weeks after my Sprint Triathlon on the 31st of August.

Have a Great Day!

That is very cool! The last 4 AM run I did (needed to get in a 2-hour run before a workshop that started at 7:30), I unfortunately got to watch the very beginning of the search for MH 370. It "disappeared" just after the handoff from Malaysian to Vietnamese air traffic control, and at some point during my run, they sent big military search choppers out to sea. I had seen them before, but only after rough weather, looking for ships in distress. I remember wondering why they were out that morning as it was a beautiful perfect morning with no wind at all.

Last run in Boise this morning. I hit some trails for 49 minutes. Hoping to get in a swim later.

Impressive 18 miler.

First two days this week have been challenging for me. Had appointments run late yesterday and an impromptu dinner with family tonight that altered my plans.

Jumped on the treadmill tonight at 9:45 for an easy 35 minutes of Z2 running. Had a good pace for Z2 this evening so that’s progress.

Guess I need to get my lazy butt out of bed in the mornings to avoid having things pop up in the evenings that mess up my plans.

Solid day for everyone. I got 7 on a treadmill near Cleveland. I was soaked. Hahaha.

The guy I’m riding with was pretty thrilled with me drying my clothes out in the car for the day, and my shoes smell horrific. Hahahaha

Cheers
