Can someone explain what the 7.8 in Speed Concept 7.8 means?

It refers to the model or version number. Similar to operating systems on your laptop or phone (Windows 7, Windows 10, etc) I think the 7.8 puts the bike at about 2013, but its also possible that aftermarket upgrades were made.

I thought that was a possibility too. I have a 2013 7.8, but a friend just got a 2016 7.5.

Tried searching but couldn’t find any definitive answers.
