Below is a quote from the IMFL site. If everyone at the site (Florida), gets first picks at the slots, how much is left for the rest of us? I've hear of events selling as fast as 45min. (this true)?
If this is true, I doubt I'll want to look to do an Mdot event. Great Floridian is still open and I get the feeling it will be for a while.

"When can I sign up for next year's race? On site at 9:00 AM local time and online at 10:00 A.M. local race site time the day after the race."

Be ready the day after the event a year in advance!

Not everybody wants to repeat the same race twice, so yes, the people there get first crack at it, but not as many spots as you think will be taken by them. Now, you should expect it to sell out in less than an hour, so be ready online.

My understanding is that they allocate a certain number of on-site spots, and a certain number of online spots - I'm not sure of the proportions, but you can get a spot online if you are ready at 10 am.

be wary of the times that online registration opens. plan to be ready to go at 9am est the day after the race.

what i did for LP was have the link up and ready to go and i just kept hitting refresh as the clock ticked over to 9am and then furiously filled everything out and hit submit. i would suggest to put in the basics (all required fields) and not fret over the insurance & medical questions (they ask to review all that when you pick up packets) and hit that submit asap as the servers get quite overwhelmed. three of my friends didn't make it into LP as they took the 10am online start advertised on the website for real and 1 other was slow and the server crashed and then it was full. and if it is 10am for FL, you will be ready. your refresh button may be worn out, but you will be ready

i have to say, being successful in my online sign up for LP was almost as exciting as crossing the finish line and rather more stressful! LOL

good luck

Thanks all. I will keep the site up and ready. Looks like the race starts online, not at the site.

Kim - You're a riot.

If you're interested, there may still be spots for IMAZ 07 - I emailed someone at IMNA asking about how quickly it would fill up and they said this year it wasn't full until something like February.

I think I heard it sold out a few weeks ago.

Thanks but I won't be ready for a full IM until 2008. Guess I'm preparing for as much of the unexpected as much as possible.

Appreciate it.

IMAZ sold out at the end of August. I got my entry in 1 week before closing... woo hoo!
