I found my motivation (hopefully). I'm doing a weight loss competition starting January 1st. I'm doing dry January, and I'm going to do a juice cleanse next weekend to jump start it. I think a big part of my lethargy is my covid weight gain, so I need to make some changes. Also am going to run 3 times this long weekend to get that jumpstarted as well.

I hope you all are well and have a fantastic new year!

Good to hear, hope it works! I also need to lose a couple of pounds (4 or 5 would be nice) which have crept up on me in the last 2 years.
Tell me more about this juice cleanse, sounds like good way to jump start the year.

Yes! I'm really excited! We have a place here called Pure Raw Juice and they provide these details about it (https://www.purerawjuice.com/juice-cleanses/). I'm doing the 3 day traditional one. I'm pretty excited for it! Actually kind of wish it started already

Hey all, is there a 2021 thread yet?
Happy New Year! May you crush your goals in 2021!!
As for me, I ringing out 2020 quarantined in my room awaiting the results of my COVID test I took today... lost my sense of taste/smell today, so weird.
Please stay healthy!

Oh nooooo! Let us know! Fingers crossed it's something unrelated!

I did another thing. I decided that I wasn't going to be able to reach all my goals doing workouts at home, so I signed up for a small, local gym. They do small group fitness sessions that include cardio and strength. Masks are required and there's tons of space (they can usually have up to 26 people in a class but are maxing out at 10). So eating well, juice cleanse, HIIT workouts...I'm pretty excited. I also went on a run this morning, and it wasn't too awful with the cold, so I'm going to do more of that too

Went on a short run this afternoon, followed by some abs. Also, I signed up for the Baltimore Sprint Triathlon next October (I deferred from 2020). I put my proposed time in as 1:20...#goals (Last time I think I came in at 1:25).

Also, I saw that the 2021 Mentor groups have opened. Does someone want to sign us up as mentor? I will if no one wants to, but I'm not always consistent and am not super experienced in terms of triathlons

For anyone wondering--I put in the BDAS thread for the 2021 mentor groups last week, but haven't heard anything about it yet, nor are we live in the mentor threads (there are only two groups!!)

I hope you all had great New Year's and are ready to jump into 2021 with gusto!!

Keeping an eye out for the new thread, thank you, Gretchen!
Test was positive so I’ve been in quarantine for a week so far. Thankful thus far no hospital and praying it continues that way. No fever, mild cough, no taste/smell, some fatigue, congestion is getting better and some shortness of breath. I know you’re supposed to take it easy for two to three months after recovering so that makes training for Ironman a little more difficult. Being patient. Stay healthy, all.

Yeah, not sure where our thread is.  I saw your post in the staging area.

I'll PM Alice.

Thanks for doing that, Gretchen. Jenn, hope you feel better soon!!!

I went to my first class at my new gym yesterday. Can barely walk today, lol (the muscles in my lower back are on FIRE) but am going to try to get a run in this afternoon. If that doesn't work out, I will get a long walk in at least. Have another class tomorrow, and possibly Saturday, although I might cancel that and go for a long hike with some friends instead.
