I've been continuing to ride a decent amount and work in some core work.  Yesterday I felt really run down, sinuses and bronchial passages all inflamed and I'm thinking OMG I got the COVID!!! when it occurred to me we're a little early on allergy season this year.  Took a Claritin and like 90% better LOL.

Surprised I didn't go into psychosemantic shock over the worry.

Back on the bike today.  Supposed to be like 75-80 degrees on Sunday so might venture outside on the wheels.

1:20 run today. It is warm (about 76F) and humid today. It is the first day we’ve had any humidity. The run felt tough, but when I got back home I figured out why. Eight “peak performances” in training peaks. A couple of all time records (for me, of course) and a bunch of best of 2020 ranging from second fasted five miles ever to highest HR for a 1’ period (I know that one isn’t great, when you’re trying to hang out in Z2!). All in all, a good workout. Arms afterwards!

There are people here mowing their lawns (or having them mowed). I may be bored and restless due to our shelter in place order, but I’m not that bored or restless!!

It’s so good to see so much activity on here!
I’m still home, head out tomorrow. I’ve managed some hour to hour and a half Zwift rides and some runs outside this week and core work. It’s actually been super busy getting the kids up to speed on distance learning. My 12 year old is very efficient and gets online as soon as he’s up and knocks everything out (right now he’s shooting hoops in the driveway). My 14 year old is a freshman and hates school. He’s just as soon sleep all day and game when he’s awake. We’ve set out a schedule to help him stay on track and make sure he’s getting his assignments done. He’s been the most challenging and stressful because he’s not an organized person at all. We’ll make it through. Last night they put the hammer down and there will be no school (only distance learning) for the remainder of the year here in VT.
I just went to the local running shop and bought a pair of running shoes. I don’t really need them yet but am trying to do what I can to support local businesses.

Weather has been pretty nice this week! Snow that fell early on has since pretty much melted. Planning a brick this afternoon and a dog walk/jog. My dog has been loving all the extra attention she’s been getting.
I head out tomorrow for a week of hopscotching the country. I’m happy I finally found some Clorox wipes to bring with me (for what that’s worth).
Stay safe and sane out there! We’ve got this! IMMT is still on but training is all over the place for me at this point. Haha

90' on the trainer this morning. Felt good--so good, in fact, I think I'm in need of another FTP test. Suspect mine is set too low.

So far, MiTi hasn't been canceled (scheduled 8/16). My coach is the RD. I asked him about it last week, and he said it is way too soon to make a decision. He is, however, working on things for the Grand Rapids Tri, which is in June. He is the RD for that race too. I have hopes we are through the mess by then, but I'm not confident that we will be.

Managed to get out on the bike today. 2 mile round trip just to drop food off at my folks, and to wish my ma happy birthday. I then did my government mandated one ride around by mine; just 2.5 miles but hillier, leg only hurt a bit. Did my rehab exercises and other strength work. 1 minute plank included.

how everyone else getting on?

Two hours on the trainer today after a long, slow roll of a morning. Had a terrible night of sleep, so it took a while to get things going this morning. But it is done and now I’m sitting in the yard enjoying some sun and warmth.

I hope everyone is safe and happy!

Did a quick ten minutes on the trainer at a higher cadence: leg a bit sore so will ice later; then lower weights to max, sit ups (doing a challenge) and leg rehab.

My HM was officially cancelled I didn't have much hope since it was scheduled for May 2, but it was at least keeping me motivated to train...double I am hoping that our weather here can kick up a few degrees soon so that I don't freeze while riding my bike. I think that spin class is the thing that I have missed most since everything has been closed.

I've been doing pretty well actually! At least getting some in a couple times a week, but could definitely do more. Glad you are back in it! Let's give updates on it again. I haven't done any this week but hope to get some in today!

Hey everyone! Glad to see workouts are still happening. I've definitely been able to be more consistent, so that's a positive to come out of this whole situation. Trying to find silver linings where I can.

My roommate and I did a virtual personal trainer session Thursday. Friday I got a short run in the afternoon. Saturday did a boot camp workout with my roommate in the house since it was raining. Long run Sunday felt pretty good (5.5 miles). Did a strength workout yesterday, then got a long walk in after work. Ran to and from PT this morning, about 3 miles total. Want to get some yoga in this afternoon, and another walk to pick up a game from a very nice neighbor. Trying to figure out a way I can thank them (they just saw me post about being interested in this escape room game, and said he and his kids were done and I was welcome to it).

My end of April race was cancelled, but they are going to do a virtual one, so that should be cool. Better than nothing. Are you all getting any money back or getting deferments for these cancellations?

I hope everyone is well! I know this is a tough time, but keeping up with workouts will help to reduce the stress for sure.

Yesterday was a rough day here--not feeling well all day (turns out, humans have to eat in order to feel well...made it to 4pm before my wife realized that I was probably nauseous because the only thing I'd had all day was an entire pot of coffee at 4am). After I ate something, ended up hoping on my bike and nailing my ride yesterday.

This morning, up for an hour ride; just a steady state, kinda boring ride, but it is done. Short run scheduled for later this afternoon. In between, I need to take the dog to the vet. She has done something to her back leg and isn't putting any weight on it at all since Monday afternoon. She didn't eat anything yesterday and vomited in the morning (she hasn't vomited since she was a puppy!), so we are headed to see the vet this morning. I hope it is just a sprain of some type.

Hey, everyone.  Same ol', same ol' here as we've pretty much settled into the new normal.  Lots of walks outdoors plus I just passed 1K miles on the bike so far this year (all indoors, of course...hoping to change that soon).  Finally pulled the plug on our Easter trip to first Orlando then Hilton Head.  My yoga studio is doing virtual live classes so the girls have been busy with that (and remote learning).

@Nicole - I got a refund for the one race that was officially cancelled by USA Cycling, minus the junk fees of course

@Gretchen - hope your puppy is OK; and I based on some of the workouts you're posting I'll bet your FTP setting is low

Pup update: Dixie has blown out all of the ligaments in her left knee. Since there is this whole pandemic going on, no surgical treatment possible. So, we are treating it with ice, anti inflammatory meds, and...and...LASERS!! Will still heal, but I lose my run training buddy for 6-9months.

Amber (roommate, but I will stop calling her my roommate now that you guys know her name) and I did a boot camp and some yoga this morning. We also picked up some sweet chairs from her work that are high enough for my dining room table and offer sweet, sweet back support. It's life changing! My PT is going to be so proud of me!

We were tossing the ball with her. I didn't see it happen, but I can imagine how it did. I throw the ball and she SPRINTS after it and then SPRINTS back. AT 11.5 years old, I'm not surprised. But, man, it sucks knowing there is a better treatment out there and not being able to give it to her.

1:37 on the trainer this morning with 6x8'@103%FTP. I overshot those goals and ended up holding 105-110%FTP for all 8 intervals. I have trouble just doing the minimum--always! I know, I should, but it is the over achiever in me that balks.

Also...what kind of monster writes a workout that is 1:37?!?!?! :P Coach is trying to drive me crazy!

That's funny.  All the Sufferfest workouts are random lengths, like 54 minutes, 22 seconds.  Makes one's head explode.

Gretchen, I’m so sorry to hear about the pup. My sister is a veterinary ophthalmologist and she’s still open and sees patients and performs surgeries - but those could be emergency surgeries, I’m not sure. I hope your pup heals up.

Got a 30” run in and an online core workout in my hotel room in Springfield, MO a couple of days ago but didn’t venture out in LA Monday or here in Miami today.
No hotel gyms or pools are open so no swimming or biking while working on the road now. Running is only outside. I can’t wait to get home Saturday morning and get back on my trainer. Yay!

Was a bit hungover yesterday from Zoom trivia (if anyone's interested, my neighbor is putting them on. On FB it's called Quarantrivia 2K20...free for anyone and super fun). Went to PT, but not by running...

Got a run in at noon today though. It was super windy but otherwise lovely. Got about 3.5 in.
