Master 2629 brummie land | Subject: RE: Beer Drinkers' Appreciation Society (BDAS) 2020 Version - ALWAYS OPEN Originally posted by nicole14e I have been a bum this week. I've not been getting a lot of sleep or eating well. Need to get back into my routine. Gonna try to reset this weekend.
I've just reset today, and it feels fab! Work is seriously sucky atm, with my job at risk and HR being slooooooow. Have been in a funk but blasted out 6 miles on my commuter bike today with no toe pain and it really helped my head. They are called Jaffa (I think I've decided it is a non-binary bike! lol!)
Good luck Nicole! |

I’ve crashed off the trainer twice (once about five years ago, once this year). I managed to hit the bike trail for a nice 17 miles after work today. It poured on us, so I was relatively clean and the temps were cool. It was great. |

Isn't there just something so special about getting that breeze in your face when you are on your bike? So therapeutic! |

Master 2629 brummie land | Subject: RE: Beer Drinkers' Appreciation Society (BDAS) 2020 Version - ALWAYS OPEN Got this beauty delivered this morning: Legend is a Madeira-finish single malt whisky, bottled at 41% abv. (86% proof in the US)
2019 Ultimate Spirits Competition - 88/100 - 'Very Good'
2018 Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial – Gold
2018 World Whisky Masters Europe Premium – Gold
2018 San Francisco World Spirits – Silver
2015 World Whisky Masters Europe Premium – Gold The Red Dragon is the national flag of Wales and the Royal Welsh badge bears the motto, ‘Y ddraig goch ddyry cychwyn’, which translates as ‘The red dragon inspires action.’ It features in ancient Welsh tales and was the battle standard of legendary Welsh princes. Welshman Henry Tudor took the flag to Bosworth, where, in 1485, he became the last king of England to be crowned on the battlefield. Tasting Notes
Nose: Aromas of fresh apples and citrus fruits intermingle with cream fudge and sultana raisins to create a complex yet fresh, clean and well-balanced whisky
Palate: Incredibly smooth and both fresh and rich dried fruits abound. Delicate and sweet on the palate with just a hint of bitterness to remain refreshing
Finish: A long aftertaste of Madeira cake and sultanas |

Regular 1532 Auckland, North Island | Subject: RE: Beer Drinkers' Appreciation Society (BDAS) 2020 Version - ALWAYS OPEN A good week/weekend for me. 1 night away mid week for work, and then Saturday night down at my parents beach house. Winter fishing not so successful, but Mr 3 loves having a boat, tractor and quad bike to play with. So a pretty good week all around. M: 40 min run T: 45 min trainer ride W: 45 min trainer ride Th: 40 min run F: 20 min run(am) 60 min trainer ride (pm) Sat: 60 min run Sun: 60 min trainer ride 6 hr 11 min total for the week. Had planned a lunch time swim mid week, but work got a bit hectic and it didn't happen. Today is day 1 of my extra long 32 week training plan to get me to IronmanNZ. I'm looking to get 3 runs, 4 rides and hopefully 2 swims in. Hope everyone is having a good weekend, despite the Garmin outage apocalypse. |

Saturday I slept in (til 7:30, lol, but woke up without an alarm), and then did one of my trainer workouts. Cleaned a bit as well. Sunday woke up and my roommate and I went to this SUP Yoga class. It was SO HARD!! But also really fun and a refreshing way to start the morning. She tried to get us to do tree pose...omg, it was comical looking at the photos b/c pretty much no one even got their foot to their leg. After that I did some serious cleaning, which was much needed in my tiny house that I feel like I never leave. Gonna do some lunchtime yoga today and have vball tonight. I haven't run in weeks so my goal is to get 2 runs in this week to try and get back into that too. I just really hate this crazy heat! Edited by nicole14e 2020-07-27 7:07 AM |

And I remember when they first tested out the SUP yoga at the Merritt like seven years ago - it was hilarious to watch everyone fall over the pool. Yeah, hotter than the surface of the sun around here. |

I'm looking to get 3 runs, 4 rides and hopefully 2 swims in. Hope everyone is having a good weekend, despite the Garmin outage apocalypse. Had a great outdoor ride on Saturday, abou 33 miles before it got too warm out. And I had to MANUALLY upload my Garmin to Strava and here on BT. Oh the horror!!!! 2010 called and wanted to know how my Sport Tracks 3.0 upgrade went. LOL Sunday was an emotional day around here. My daughter finally graduated high school, the last graduating class of a Catholic school that had been here for over 170 years but fell on hard times financially and COVID was the final nail in the coffin so to speak. They had the ceremony outdoors so we cooked but it was perfectly crazy given the times. My daughter is valedictorian so she got to speak at the ceremony and spoke to the media afterwards (and was on the news and quoted in the paper). A great day but also really sad on so many levels. Nicole can affirm that where we live is weird - where you went to high school is EVERYTHING. Not being from here, it was hard to understand but after my daughter's experience in high school I totally get it now. I'm also on a new project at work that has me under an NDA, and it's crazy so my schedule has been a mess and I'm just going to train by available time. Hope everyone has a great week! |

What an honor and bittersweet it’s the last year for the school! She will forever be the last valedictorian of the school. Sappho, glad to hear the toe is doing well! |

1941 , Vermont | Subject: RE: Beer Drinkers' Appreciation Society (BDAS) 2020 Version - ALWAYS OPEN I just got back to Louisville after being home for ten days. It was BEAUTIFUL back home so you’d think I got lots of riding in... not one day. We’ve decided we will be putting our house on the market so I spent the entire time decluttering, painting the entire basement, laying new tile in the laundry, ripping up carpet and planning install and hauling stuff to the storage unit. We have signed a contract on a different place in our town and we will only move if we get that particular place so we are careful that any changes we make are things we’d want if we stay. I’m back at work for the next 12 days but then I’ll have Aug 9 - Sept 5 off (yup, vacation for the cancelled IM) to finish and get it in the market by mid August or so. No pressure. My sister put her house on the market last Monday and by Wednesday had two offers, both over asking price. Crazy times. |

Member 2831 Carbondale, Illinois | Subject: RE: Beer Drinkers' Appreciation Society (BDAS) 2020 Version - ALWAYS OPEN Let me know as we get closer to the weekend! Of course, KY just went back into a stricter lockdown (bars closed, restaurants at 25% occupancy, etc). We’ll figure it out though! I hit the bike trail after work and put in 26 miles. The first 23 or so felt great. The last three kinda felt like I was running out of steam. |

Expert 4269 | Subject: RE: Beer Drinkers' Appreciation Society (BDAS) 2020 Version - ALWAYS OPEN I have fallen off the wagon and am struggling mightily to get back on. In my defense - my 0 for 5 workout streak wasn't entirely my fault - we had a terrible night of lightening, then I went on vacation (took my bike with me but couldn't find a safe place to ride it). SO this morning - I decided to get back on the wagon but I just couldn't beat the snooze on my alarm. I've got to get back into it. Please send good vibes my way |

1966 Baltimore, Maryland | Subject: RE: Beer Drinkers' Appreciation Society (BDAS) 2020 Version - ALWAYS OPEN So I still haven't run, but I'm at peace with this decision. Monday I played vball, Tuesday I did yoga, yesterday I did a workout from my trainer, and I did some yoga this morning. I'm going SUPing this evening with a small group of people that I found through someone I met at SUP yoga. Looking forward to making new SUP friends and to getting out on the water. I have a tri at the beginning of October that I am hoping just gets cancelled for the same reasons as all the previous tris. I have not been training pretty much at all these days. If we don't get the option to defer I may just forego the money (it was only $50, and I paid a year and a half ago b/c I had to defer last year due to injury). Either way, I do want to get back into running. I'm just going to wait for the temps to go down a bit next week Edited by nicole14e 2020-07-30 12:21 PM |

Expert 4632 Middle River, Maryland | Subject: RE: Beer Drinkers' Appreciation Society (BDAS) 2020 Version - ALWAYS OPEN Good week so far other than work being completely insane. A couple of bike sessions and some strength work, a session in the pool, and a decent Bikram session. Shooting for 40 miles on Saturday weather-depending...two hours is about my limit on the trainer before I claw my own eyes out. |

But we've all been there where we lose our mojo for a while... The weekend is coming, it's a great chance for you to get back out there. Me Good first half of the week. 2 runs, 2 trainer rides, and even a short bodyweight strength/mobility session. Unfortunately no swims, I had planned on a before work swim this morning, but Mrs Bullfrog had a site meeting out of town, so instead of at the pool early I was in charge of Mr 3. Oh well such is life. Looking forward to a longer trainer ride tonight watching some rugby, and a longer run and another spin on the weekend. I've also done 14 days in a row now of SBR. So that's a nice little milestone. We will see how long we can keep it going. Enjoy your weekends everyone. |

My is just starting to talk about return to work, and we're definitely not traveling the rest of the year. Really weird for me not to as I'm usually on the road about 50-60 days a year. 14 days in a row is really nice consistency, which is the most important training outcome. Long walk and a swim planned for tomorrow, weather permitting. Supposed to get rainy tomorrow and then maybe a side-swipe of some tropical weather early next week. That time of year on the East Coast. |
