Happy New Year BTers! We had a great turnout last year and a bunch of those who joined made it! To even attempt such a feat is admirable so let's see who's in this year! I myself have some other goals but I may be able to get it done again this year.

Come join me!

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17VWciD8tPAvVijWJG9mhn3bNpUQk...

All kinds of runners are welcome!

Count me in! The 2019 Challenge kept me focused and I logged more miles for the year than I had in some time..

Goal for 2020 is 1200miles and if I can keep from getting hurt, I'll hopefully do more than that..

Thanks for getting this started and best of luck to all participants..

163 miles in 2019.
I'm not signing up for the challenge this year.
After a bunch of injuries during the year I finished 2019 feeling great.
Rock climbing, cycling and cross country skiing are my priorities at the moment but there still might be some running in my future.

I made a couple of edits to the spreadsheets to lock in the year-end values for 2019, and correct the daily pace bunny value for the 2020 challenge.

Good luck with your goals in 2020. Appreciate your runs (even when they suck) - don't take them for granted.

If y'all don't mind, I'd like to give it a whirl.

Been off my feet for a few years now; however, my youngest daughter (12) has been bitten by the triathlon bug, and has me motivated to get at it again.

I'm in officially this year.

Hit my goal last year but didn't officially track anything in the spreadsheet. Thanks for making that Roland, really cool!

Welcome to the challenge Parkland! I can't take credit for making the spreadsheet though. I think Don did?

Had a good January, 114 miles to get the year started off. I added in trainer sessions 2x a week as well in January. Encouraged to see my run mileage stay over 100 miles for the month despite cutting my run frequency back some.

I'm back! I just put my name down with a goal of 500 miles. Last week was my first 2-run week in more than a year. I ran 8 km (5 miles) today - my longest run since Feb 20, 2019.

Injuries have severely limited my running over the last year but I feel great now. Or at least I'm pain free and my knees and ankles feel solid. My run fitness sucks but I know that will improve with time.

Some impressive distances are being racked up. Keep up the good work.

A couple of notes about the spreadsheet....
You can overwrite the default distance goal with a goal of your choice.
If you track distance in kilometres, you can enter your distance in km (in column c) and put a formula in column b to divide by 1.609. The spreadsheet will take care of the rest.

Glad to see you running again Don!

I also set a goal of 500 miles this year since I'm aiming to achieve 4.0watts/kg on the bike. :)

I took my first run since my bike "crash." I felt some discomfort, but nothing too bad. I had to keep my pace down, so I could keep my heart rate under control. Plus, if I tried to run faster, it would have been more than mild discomfort. I trained by heart rate, I guess I could call it for a long time now. One thing that still amazes me is that if I am sick or injured my heart rate will be 10-20 bpm than normal.
This being my first run outside since November coupled with not being able to run for a month made me feel even more like Steve Martin in "The Jerk," when he discovers his name in the phone book. Just joyfully running around happy to be out there.

I hope you don’t mind if I join! I haven’t been on BT in years, but I suddenly have lots more time on my hands, so my goal is to be more active here and on the roads.

Hi all.  I am late to the party, as usual, but will try again this year.  Never have made the goal, but it's good to have one, since most races are cancelled!

Welcome back James! I know what you mean about the higher heart rates when you're not well. It's a good marker about how you're body is doing.

I'm going to break down and join you all. For the last 3 years, I was on track in the spring and then summer killed me. But I'll try again. My mileage is a combo of my running and my walking. Doing a LOT more walking during the quarantine simply for mental health.
