Subject: RE: Race Link Question - How to add new race? Thanks Ron. Actually did a race simulation with a training group today. We did an open water swim (real choppy ); 15 mi bike (real rainy ); and 5 mi run (race course is actually more like 5.4 mi ). We took about 10 mins in between each segment and got tips on the particular discipline. It was a nice way to get to know the course and the area. But then I was thinking - is that such a good idea to in effect do a race the week before the race? Probably should have thought about that before this morning. For training purposes, I plan to do the 16wk 2x balanced OLY Week 16 taper this week. You may recall (probably not ) that I had to pull out of an OLY a couple of weeks ago because I blew out my back following a bike/run brick five days before the race - that was to be my A race this year. Instead, I'm doing this modified sprint next weekend. Back feels good. Real question is whether you think Week 16 makes sense to do this week for me. I ask because it's a taper week for an OLY and I'm doing a Sprint (albeit with a 5 mi instead of a 3 mi run ). |
