Subject: ICU Capacity
i was reading an article this morning sounding the alarm that some ICUs are at 90% capacity. I was listening to a hospital official from a Houston hospital that was at 90% capacity. His stated that a year ago they were at 95% and that they typically keep ICUs near capacity. That makes sense as you want to have the staff available to cover peaks. My daughter is an ICU nurse and said covid patients are much easier to take care of than the typical ICU patients that generally have more severe and multiple problems.
