Let's also factor in the average age of death due to C-19, and compare that to the average age of death from ALL causes. Last time I saw that statistic, the average age of C-19 death was actually higher than the average age of death from all causes.

And also factor in the number of cases of those who died "with" C-19 and compare it to the number of cases who died "from" C-19. Many states don't make the distinction, and even if you died from a gun shot wound, but tested positive, you're counted as a C-19 death.

Oh, and wait, there's one more to throw in: How many of those that are counted as C-19 deaths are merely "suspected" or "probable"? Those are being thrown into the same bucket as well. You don't even need to have a positive test result any more!

Gotta keep those numbers up, to fuel the fear.

Wasn't scared in March, moved to "don't care at all" status after my daughter got it and nobody else in the house got sick. I guess I now know hundreds who have contracted it.....a giant Meh from me.

I'll say the same as I said in March....quarantining healthy people was the dumbest chit in the history of dumb chit. Take care of the aged and infirm in your family.....it's YOUR responsibility.

Second, nobody could have stopped deaths from Covid. Not a single country managed to do that and there were plenty of different ways of handling it.

But when one country has 2 or 3x the deaths, per population, it's only normal to question if something else could have been done.

You can say "I am willing to accept 2 to 3x death rate to preserve my economy, or fundamental rights or...."

In deaths/million people, the US is currently 11th (https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus). I find it interesting that 49.8% of US deaths have been in 6 total states. I suspect if we had isolated seniors and other at risk people earlier on, we would have done much better. I think this is the approach that still makes sense now. I know of only one person, a friend from work, whose teenage daughter caught the virus, but my friend and nobody else in his family did. his daughter had a sore throat and that was it.

Actually 10th but it's dynamic. If you consider Andorra and San Marino countries :-) Ever been to Andorra ? I bet your city is bigger.

And if you want to see really interesting numbers, look at the death rate after that first big hump. Look at say from May 1st on.
