Getting some consistency back.  Yesterday was a good 1500y swim and some upper body work, and today was a short treadmill run/walk, a short trainer ride and some lower body strength work.  Early bike ride tomorrow before driving my daughter back to college.  My little TV buddy will be gone...who's going to watch WandaVision with me?

Sad! How's she been doing with college swimming? Have they been able to compete?

Had a great run yesterday. Felt better than I've felt in a long time. My Runkeeper weirdly added an extra half mile on in the first 5 minutes, so I start out at under 5 minute pace...lol

Did a strength and cardio workout at my gym today, and am planning on going back tomorrow, and hoping to get a hike in as well. Also planning on hiking Sunday, and possibly getting a run in one of the days.

Oh yeah, all done! It was only for 3 days. I felt AMAZING afterwards. My skin was (and still is) really great. I felt like I looked younger than I have in awhile (that might be partially that I've been losing weight too). I didn't eat super great over the weekend, but eating clean this week now.
I think I realized why it's hard for me to eat well during the weekend. It makes me feel like I'm at work. I'm gonna need to find a way to eat well but not make it feel mundane. Any recs from anyone would be amazing.

Great!

Yes, I have the same problem at the weekend, mainly because during the week, I am in charge of cooking evening meals (and I make my lunchbox at work) but at weekends, it’s the man’s responsability to shop and cook, and although he doesn’t serve processed food, there is a lot of meat and sauces in his cooking. Plus opens a nice bottle of wine which would be rude of me to let him drink by himself, Lol.

Eating well doesn’t have to be boring though, maybe try and find some nice tasty recipes.

Curious to hear how it went, the race site and your Strava have very divided opinions about it! Lol

Agreed!

And yeah, I try to be creative, but mostly am cooking for myself (or with my roommate) so it turns into leftovers. So the meals I find have to either be smaller, or heat up well. I don't love meat reheated, so have been trying to find veggie options that work, which has been going decently well. Ever the adventure!

Got a gym workout in this morning. Going on a nice long hike tomorrow. Not totally sure how to dress for it, so I'm aiming for layers (it's gotten a bit cold here the last few days).

Kell decided she didn't want to commit to D1 swimming at UMBC.  Besides we didn't like the coach anyway because he's a jerk (long story, like 11 years old LOL).  She's going to swim club.  They actually have one of the best Masters programs in the state there, so I told her to look into that as well.  The whole campus is more or less shut down, including the RAC.

I saw 7 hours-ish.  Swim crushed sub-40, really nice bike just over three hours, and a three hour HM.  Actually pretty well predicted.

Nice work, Andrew!!!

So there was another Andrew Lee racing the longer distance 'the enduro' at the same event... I also found myself confused when I looked at the results. At least I think that will be where any potential strava/results confusion came from.

Mike has it right, 7:02:19. I will do a proper race report soon, if only for my own reference, but the cliff notes version.

Swim, 36:59. Current assisted to be fair. But still very happy. Pace on the into the current sections was good too.
Bike, 3:08:29. Very, very happy. PB for the HIM distance. Flat course, but quite windy and exposed for the last 1/2 - 1/3 of the bike.
Run, 3:08:36. Disappointed. Legs weren't there. maybe over cooked the bike. Power walking was within 1min/km of my 'run' pace half way through so walked most of the 2nd lap.

Overall about 10min faster, in similar conditions than 2017. So although slow, fitness test passed. Ironman in March is approved. (unless we get Covid'd)

Well done Andrew! Looking forward to reading your report.

I could only see one Andrew Lee on the race site, hence the confusion.
Have a great week all!

I gotcha, that makes sense! A bad coach can make all the difference.

Got in a long hike (about 5.5 miles I think) on Sunday. Did a gym workout this morning, then donated blood, so my workouts might be a little rough the next couple days.

Nice work.

I think you were a little concerned about the run and that concern kept you from emptying the tank, but that's a damn good swim and bike time.  And smart with an IM coming up in two months as well.

Hello, all  Got in about an hour on the trainer yesterday Zwifting around, and today was 1600 in the pool, which puts me at almost 12K yards for the month, which is the highest in about 18 months.  I should get in another 1k or so Friday.

Virtual race on Zwift tomorrow - should be interesting as I haven't hammered it on the bike in about three months.

Thanks Mike.

So far this week, Monday off, 40 min easy run Tuesday, 60 minutes on zwift Wednesday and Friday. Tried to swim at lunch on Wednesday to discover that the pools were closed due to a power cut... lucky me.

60 min (probably) zwift tonight before long run and ride over the weekend.

Have a good weekend everyone.

No zwifting for me this weekend but mountain biking in the snow and ice skating on the lake instead in that glorious cold and sunny winter weather we are having. Hope everyone had a nice weekend
