Other than I've been staying up way too late to watch live swimming and know way more about weird sports than I care to?

I had thought the lack of spectators wouldn't be a big deal, but it has...there is NO energy in the buildings.  You can see it swimming, gymnastics, b-ball, soccer, etc. - it's like a bunch of scrimmages in practice.

The bike races and triathlon were really great races.

Swimming has gone about as I expected (U.S.-centric viewpoint here)...win some, disappoint some.  Some fast times being thrown down.  Not surprised Ledecky lost to Tutnis - we'll see tonight in the 200 free if Katie has an angry swim in her.  US women's soccer team looks bored, and bad.  Surprised Osaka lost this early, but carrying the weight of a country on your shoulders is tough.  Ask Simone Biles about that (hoping she gets what she needs right now...the Olympics a better place with a happy, joyous SB).

Looking forward to track and field starting soon.

I love it; I always do. I especially find the single-minded focus these kids carry around totally inspirational.

Having fun watching sports you don’t normally see on TV: judo (my first sport), weightlifting (thinking about my dad), water polo (my dream sport: a ball, a couple of goals and teammates but no risk of breaking a knee -although fingers in the eyes and kicks under water seem common)

Been also watching football (soccer to many of you ), Swedish women are doing well, mountain bike, triathlon of course, handball and more.

Yeah, they took apart the U.S. for sure.

And water polo is a brutal sport...be careful what you wish for!

They did, and played well in the other 2 games too!

Yes water polo does look brutal but what I meant was that I wouldn’t risk breaking a knee just by running, jumping, stopping, like you do in other team sports I have played (soccer, handball). Plus I was almost always in goal then so I’d naturally be a goalie at water polo too, so less fingers in the eyes and under water kicks in the lower regions .

I’m too old for team sports anyway now, so it’s all hypothetical (if there was a water polo team near me, it would almost certainly be girls between 15 and 20 like the other team sports. )

That's a really cool event.  And yeah, a little quick.  I think Yee was running a 4:30 mile pace.
