Run
Comments: Set out with a 2:10 in mind. Stayed under 10 mm until mile six. Ran under 10:30 until mile 10. then all went to hell. 11:30's and a 12:28 at the end. Considering how hard I went out in Reading and the pace I was maintaining in this race I am satisfied with the results. Only broke stride 3 times. First was to take water from 3 kids working a water stop in there driveway (could not short one of them, they were so cute). The second stop was at Grandma F's grave (cemetery on the route) to say hi. She is one of the reasons I started to try just before she passed of weight related complications. And the third was when I saw the kids at the finish line. What would you do differently?: Not much, loved the two race format. Was supposed to log closer to 3:30 for the day, but racing with people is much more fun than running alone. Post race
Warm down: Found the kids (a surprise) at the finish line, gave them high fives as I got close to the chute. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not ready to race close to 16 miles in a day at that pace :) Event comments: A very small race. Well run with the exception of being short of water at the end of the race. Was a benifit for a local Breast Cancer charity. Last updated: 2006-09-05 12:00 AM

Rushed to Wilmington from the Reading 2.5 mile "fun" run. See other race report.
Ran in Reading, also ran from the start line back to the car and porta johns, must have been about 3/4 of a mile of extra running around :)
