So glad to see my account was still up and able to log in to BT.

Well, its been 10 years since last IM! So much has changed. But not boring you with that.

I have recently retired due to selling my company and being subsequently fired (haha). And now back in the saddle with Tri fitness. I bought a house that has access to the trails 100yds away, a lap pool across the street (open from 6am-10pm) and a dedicated room with the trainer set up. No excuses left!

I'm thinking IM 70.3 Nice next summer and possibly IM California 70.3 in April if I can get in shape in time.

That's all for now. Just glad to be back on BT. (I see slowtwitch still had a bit of a "vibe")

Welcome back.  I think you'll notice some cowbebs as you walk through the door.  Probably only about a hundred or so of us active here anymore vs. at least ten times that many when you left.  But we're happy you're back.  Good luck in your journey.

oh no...where did everyone go? It seems the sport has gotten more popular in that time.

I tried a few facebook groups but those looked terrible.

Welcome back! I came out of retirement last year as well. Definitely not as many people active on her but the ones that are still are consistent!

I did IMNC 70.3 in October. I slow built up over the year. It was so fun. I am back for 2023!

I'm in a FB group of some old BT-ers but like you said it's not the same.  I can't stand the FB formatting of conversations.  There are a bunch of reasons why many people left:  site redesign, over-moderation of forums, general move away from forum-style sites (though I'm still active on a couple that are like BT 15 years ago in terms of participation).  I have 12 years of workout logs here and I help run a mentor group so I'm here to stay.

Welcome back!

It's been slow around these parts, and I haven't posted in the forums in many many many years. There are some of us still keeping our logs current... although many are no longer SBR'ing. I have logs on here since March of 2004, so I'm not going anywhere. That's almost 20 years of workout logs!

Glad you're back!

I joined BT 10 years ago for my first sprint…. Did short distances for 6 years and stopped. I am back too! Aging up to 60-64. Very creaky but happy to be moving again. Noticed the forums are really old. Not much for Facebook but I can go there if that’s where the conversations are! Nice to see some people on the site!

Just an update. A few months in now. Training going well, up to about 12-15hrs per week with SBR and one strength session. Ran Surf City 13.1 today as a long run. Kept everything nice and steady and then negative split each of the last 5 miles.

Also got my foundation slot today for Oceanside 70.3. So I'm in! This will be my 3rd, although the last one was in 2012. I will actually be better trained this time so I should beat my old times.

Nice work on the negative splits on the half marathon.  That is not easy to do.  Good luck at Oceanside.

I've failed at that several times - yeah tough to execute so really nice work.  You're going to crush Oceanside.
