Subject: 2005 Ironman USA - I'm In!

Well, I did it.  After being a spectator at the Ironman USA in Lake Placid this weekend, I'm fired up.  I sent in my entry for the 2005 event which will be on Sunday, July 24th.  I had to do it this morning...the registration for the 2,000 open spots went up on line at 10:00 AM today and it's expected they will fill the field within 48 hours.  There's no turning back now...with a $425 entry fee, I'm not about to toss that kind of money down the drain on a half-baked training regime.

364 days to go!

Max

I dropped $545 on IMAZ. If you include all the clothes I bought.

I'm with ya Max - I posted on the "Who's racing" questioning my sanity. Maybe we can get a big group of lunatics from here to do that race.

Good luck. / Gary

Way to go Max! With your consistency in training, and you determination I'm sure you are going to do a great race for yourself. It will be interesting following your progress and then reading your race report.

That's awesome, Max.  Good luck with training.  I can't think of a more impressive athletic feat for someone who is not a professional athlete than completing an Ironman!  A couple of us here can give you a three month peek ahead at how it will be from IMAZ...

A couple of notes for you guys above:  1) IMAZ is full for regular registration.  That's right, there are at least 2000 idiots signed up already.  2)  There has been some talk that this is the last year for IM Florida.  Don't know if that is the case or not, but it deserves some investigation!

Oh gosh yes you are Ovetta!  Everyone here is such great inspiration as I find all sorts of motivation in reading about their goals and accomplishments!  And Phil, thanks for the info on Ironman Arizona...will really be looking forward to your training and racing reports and how it all goes for you when race day finally arrives!
