Run
Comments: Run went pretty well for me. I'm really slow and let myself get discouraged. It is the hardest discipline for me. I ran the first mile in 11:25, which is great for me.....but I had trouble maintaining that for the remaining amount of the race. I need to push myself harder before walking. I especially tend to walk up inclines, though perhaps I walk faster than I would run it! This was a personal best for me so I should be happy that I continue to improve in times and am definitely in better shape than a year ago! What would you do differently?: Train more, not discouraged. Post race
Warm down: Drank several bottles of water and walked around with husband after race. Had a banana, small sandwich and brownie. What limited your ability to perform faster: Mental Confidence. Event comments: I liked the race, it was well run and you get a nice long sleeve t-shirt and bag for participating. It was also nice to have a local race to compete in....I didn't have to wake up to early for a change! Last updated: 2006-09-04 12:00 AM

Woke up around 7:00 a.m, had a banana and cheerios and water. Headed off to race site.
Parked a half-mile away or so and took a walk to starting line and walked around Kings Farm Centre waiting for race to start.
