CycleOps, Trainer Trac, KK......Fluid, Mag.....So many choices!

Fall is falling here in W. Michigan and the outdoor riding days are quickly coming to an end. I'm a newbie and looking for some recommendations on a trainer. Thanks in advance!!

We bought the Travel Trac Real Axiom and we're loving it. There are DVDs that allow you to race different real courses [most are in Italy, I believe]. You can also race against friends online but I haven't tried that yet.

Check out the Gear Reviews & Questions forum - you can seach for "trainer" by clicking "Search Forums". Many people have posted on this topic I hope this helps!

Can't go wrong with Cycle-ops fluid 2. Very happy woth mine, quiet and easy to clamp bike into. Nuff said.

I second the Cycleops Fluid 2.  Smooth and Quiet.  It's a love-hate relationship though.

I have the kurt kinetic road machine (fluid), used it for the last 2.5 years and no issues. Really like it

I just bought the CycleOps Fluid 2.  It was an easy setup, easy to get the bike on and off and it is very quite.  I have no complains so far.

I'd suggest a fluid trainer regardless of the brand...unless you can afford a CompuTrainer.  I've got a CycleOps myself and like it but I've also heard the Kurt is good.

Take a look at the 1UP trainer, two of my buds who came by got rid of their trainers (both had Cycleops) and got the 1UP.  Absolutley no issues, fold almost flat, and lifetime warranty with very highly rated customer service.

What "issues" did they have with their CycleOps?

I have the Minoura 850 magnetic trainer. I have only had it a couple weeks so far. I love it so far, light, easy to set up, inexpensive, works great. My only problem so far is it seems to be eating off a lot of my tire, I just can't figure out if this is a normal amount or an excessive amount....

I have Nashbar's Fluid Trainer. I am sure someone else makes it and Nashbar just slaps their stickers on it. I found mine on their used merchandise listings for $100 last year. I have since used the mess out of the thing and haven't had any problems with it.
