Run
Comments: My goal was to break an 8-mile pace, my wish goal was to finish at 45 minutes. All in all a great race even though it was freezing. I hate the cold! Race season is offically over, bartender...Corona please, hold the lime! Post race
Warm down: Grabbed some water, hung out with friends...got even colder and went home for a scolding hot shower...man that was AWESOME. What limited your ability to perform faster: I think this is where I should be. Not really a runner just started running with the track team and have been making nice progress. Will continue working out with them and learn how to run. Event comments: Personal best for me for the 10K, improved by 24 seconds pace per mile. From 8:17 to 7:53... Woke up around 7:30 for the 9:05 start. It was 36 degrees outside, if I wouldnt have pre-registered I certainly would've talked my self out of racing. Drank 12oz of water, breakfast bar and 1/2 cup of coffee. Arrived at the race site around 10 after 8. Grabbed my race packet and sat in the car for another 15-20 minutes.
Around 8:35, did some light jogging followed by some strides. Stretched for 10 minutes and went to the race starting line around 8:55. I kept my gloves and ear warmers on figured if I got hot along the run I could always stash them in a pocket....Was ay too cold for me. By time we started it warmed up to 42 degree...(freezing)
