Mystic Places Marathon
60F / 16C
Sunny
Total Time = 1h 44m 39s
Overall Rank = 435/496
Age Group = F20-29
Age Group Rank = 53/59
Pre-race routine:

Ate a bagel and hung out with the BT crew.
Run
  • 1h 44m 39s
  • 10 miles
  • 10m 28s  min/mile
Comments:

I wasn't entirely sure how fast I could run this race in, and even if I could do it at all, so I set out and what I thought was a good pace and tried to keep it as long as I could. Due to the lack of mile markers it was hard to pace myself but I did the best I could. When I was almost near the end, and feeling like ass, Pam was there waiting for me to get me to the final stretch (thanks Pam!) and then the rest of the crew was on the side cheering, which was very cool. The only advantage to being the slowest runner in the group is that the faster people are already done so there are more people to cheer for me when I come in :).
What would you do differently?:

Train more.
Post race
Warm down:

Mmmm..Krispy Kremes and Doritios...mmm. Hung out for a bit and shivered. Then forced popcorn on everyone.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

This was the longest run I've ever done, so I suppose that could have affected my performance ;). But this is something to build off of, so I'll take it.

Event comments:

Needs: more mile markers and more aid stations! But a nice little race overall.
