Pre-race routine:

frantically finish work, speed to event, meet (angry) wife, kids and MIL.
Event warmup:

None, unless you count sprinting in the parking garage leaving work to get there before the start.
Run
  • 27m 23s
  • 3.4 miles

Comments:

I felt the need for speed so I just went for it. I think I had a PR, running in the low 8s/mile.
What would you do differently?:

leave work earlier, if at all possible.
Post race
Warm down:

Got back on the trail for another couple of miles (running) to find the kids and MIL who were scattered over the course.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing. Felt that was as fast as I could sustain at this point in my training.

Event comments:

The event was to showcase local food and beverage vendors. There was plenty to eat and drink - all for free (well, entry fee) but no cash required. Even hand made cigars.
