just never could get going, felt i was moving ok, but planned on going faster.. cramped in quads slightly early on but backed off pace and controlled them, full lock-on hammy cramp with about 1.5 miles to go, ouch, walked a little, then jogged rest of the way in, cramped 2 more times before finishing...

Uuuuhhhh... 8 something minute miles WITH cramping and feeling bad? Dang. I WISH!!!!

Looks like you had a great race even though you weren't feeling 100%.

And those wet suit strippers... that was cracking me up to watch it. I got in on the fun by YELLING at the participants to strip to their butt and get on the ground! HA!

I heard they got better as the day went on, and that some were really good.

I'm just glad they were there to help, it was fun.

Great race and good job on the run especially with cramping issues to deal with.

I certainly agree with you about the "real bad section" of road.  Maybe the county road department will re-pave it before next year.

I plan on doing this race again next year.

Hey, were you the dude who cramped in both calves there during the wetsuit strip & couldn't stand up?  If so, I was the volunteer who jumped the rope & massaged your calf.  That would be SO cool if that were a BTer.

Well either way, CONGRATULATIONS on pushing through the issues and finishing a great race!  Way to go.

no, that one wasn't me, but i'm sure he appreciated that - mine cramped but not real hard after the swim and seemed to work itself out on the bike... now the ones during the run, that's another story - they HURT bad!
