An Irish saying that is in my Grandmother's house:  May he be in Heaven a half hour before the Devil knew he died.

Prays for Al and his family and friends.

Sorry to hear that Bear. I have lost four people close to me within the last couple of years. I have planted a tree in the yard so I always am reminded of them.

Bear,

I'm truly sorry for your loss & so glad for you that you had the chance be a friend with someone with such a great spirit! I lost a friend to cancer last year at her young age of 31 and she too had a fabulous spirit and was very inspiring to me to get more into running/spinning/or whatever my sport interest might be. Thank you for sharing your story with us...it truly was an inspiring story that I will remember and one I'm so glad you shared.

John,

I am very sorry you lost a friend; that is a hard thing to deal with. Thank you for the inspiring stories about Al. Stories like this are valuable, and helpful at times when I would otherwise give up on the task at hand.

I hope you put the smack down on the pavement this weekend in Al's honor !

PS: Glad to hear of another person inspired by TNT.

Sorry for his passing Bear...

Characters such as Al really give meaning to living everyday. Do not think your story/his story isnt that great, I have one exactly the same... and it is something that helps the pain disappear just when I think I cant go on anymore.
