Comments: I was surpised I came this close to my 30 minute goal. I felt like I was working hard but not going fast. I was passed right at the end by a teenaged boy who I had been constantly swapping places with for the last quarter of the race. I was able to kick it in when he came running up to pass me, but not nearly enough and he blew by me like I was standing still. This is my best 5k run time to-date, including training runs which I tend to do better at. Yay! I had fun picking off some slower people at this race, my first experience with that. Boy is it nice to pass SOMEONE, ANYONE after constantly being passed myself. What would you do differently?: Try harder right at the end of course! Post race
Warm down: Half a bagel and then I stayed and cheered the kinds during the their run and watched the award ceremony. I wanted a skeleton award real bad, but it's a no go. I'll have to be happy with my t-shirt! What limited your ability to perform faster: Humidity and temperature. If it had been a little cooler and drier I might had been able to make that 30 minute goal. Maybe. :) Event comments: Will definitely do this race next year! Last updated: 2006-07-26 12:00 AM

Power bar and some water when I woke up. I spent some time adding new songs to my MP3 player and then I spent some time hoping that all the fast chicks STAYED HOME IN BED. Alas, that didn't happen. ;)
Milling about and gawking at the actual fast people who were warming up.
