Run
Comments: Started cautiously, as this was my first organized running race in like 18 years. Kept a watchful eye on my HRM, not letting myself get too often over 170bpm--though that was tough with some of those gnarly hills. Great race, well organized, sufficient support. Only criticism is no readily visible mile markers on the course. What's up with that? Post race
Event comments: Highly recommended. If you're looking for a fun race, but with enough challenge and situated on one of my most scenic spots in the World, try this San Francisco US Half Marathon. Last updated: 2006-09-08 12:00 AM

Breakfast at 5:30a. 6:25a, power-walked 1.5-2 miles from Jessica's apartment to the race start.
No warmup, other than power-walk to the race, as we arrived literally 3 minutes before the starting gun.
