1) I am/was a great Tetris player. I could play while on the phone and watching TV. Would have to purposefully let pieces fall to make it more challenging.

2) I am/was a great Foosball player. Played way too much in college.

1) I worked at McDonalds for 4 years during college. It only made me want the food more.

2) I learned how to weld plastic bumper covers in an I-CAR class for body shop technicians.

3) My hair is naturally curly.

4) I spent hundreds of dollars in the '80's playing Defender, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Asteroids, and Space Invaders. I was quite good at all of them, and usually had the high score at the roller rink. ALL of my money went to video games. Everything I made from babysitting was converted to quarters.

5) I'm a spelling bee champion...(sorta)I made the state semi-finals in 1983, 7th grade. Missed on "Yewberry" WTF?

6) I'm adopted. I've never met my biological parents and am QUITE conflicted as to whether I want to try to find them or not.

Did you have the original Atari at home also??

Used to play Asteroids on Atari for so long the fingers really started to hurt.

2) I finished college with two degrees in 3.5 years. AND I wait tables for a living.

3) This summer was my first triathlon season. I fell in a race mid season. For the rest of the season fellow competitors recognized me not by my face or name, but by the scar on my back. "Hey, you're that one girl who fell." yeah that's me.

4) I don't want kids either and i'm not sure i ever want to get married. Not that I don't want a committed relationship, just not sure about the marriage thing.

5) I hate it when people tell me i'll change my mind about the things i mentioned in #4

word.  My paper route money used to get converted to quarters and fed into the Space Invaders and Asteroids machines at 7-eleven.  When I got Atari (after Pong) my parents had no idea how much money they saved me!

I'm glad to hear from people with similar view.  For the longest while a coworker has been bombarding me with stories of her 2 year old son every day to "share her joy" so that I may "change my mind" about not having kids.  Fortunately I don't work with her any more.

My ex and I broke up because of this fundamental difference.  He got tired of waiting for me to change.  I keep reminding my current BF of 8 years that I don't want kids.  Yep, we're not married and we don't even live together.

I think people who recognize what they want and don't want and are comfortable with that are a lot better off than those who get brainwashed into something and then end up regretting it later.  Haley said it well when she said she'd leave the child raising to people with the desire to do it.  I give all of you credit for feeling that way.  Neither thing - raising kids and/or marriage - should be entered into by people who are unsure if it is what they want.  That way lies disaster more often than not.

  1. A friend asked me to dance for her bosses bachelorette party...and I did.  Got tipped too.  I was 24 yrs old and in much better shape
  2. While camping with I was 6 yrs old, was shooting pool at the campground lodge and a guy bet me a can of coke on a game.  I WON (I was a good player).   Had I lost, I didn't have the money for the coke.
  3. Undergrad was the 5.5 yr plan, Grad was 2 yrs.
  4. For I white boy....I know how to dance.
  5. At maybe 5 years old I announced I was running away to the neighbors house.  My dad even carried over my toy chest.  That night, sleeping in their camper I woke up screaming, "I WANT TO GO HOME!!!!"

I wrote down the lyrics to Chicago's "Your The Inspiration" and gave it to a girl that I had a crush on in 2nd grade.

Yup....both mom and dad are cool.....and have been divorced since I was about 6.

More stuff:

  1. Going up in Florida I used to grab my pop gun, head out the door telling my parents I was headed to the creek to shoot aligators....and they let me go.  There were no gators in the creek.
  2. Used to chase seagulls up and down the beach.  One time my Grandpa found me a mile and half down the beach still chasing them.
  3. Running on the beach as a kid gave me very strong legs.
  4. As a child I literally KICKED the crud out of my friends older brother who was about 5 years older and many times my weight.  Our mom's were best friends.  His mom told my parents they needed to punish me.  My dad's comment back: "If Ty's beating up Barry, I think you need to slap Barry around and toughen him up."  GO DAD!!!
  5. I USED to be SHY and had little self confidence....that lasted into college.  Missed out on some high school dates I think.

I always thought of myself as a serial monogomist after being in relationships for over 10 years straight.

Now the thought of dating or being in a relationship makes me want to vomit.  I love being single, having no one to report too.  I secretly fear that I will love this lifestyle and never want to go back

-My husband and I are highschool sweethearts. We started dating when I was 16 and he was 15 (I'm 4 months older.) We've now been together for almost 15 years, married for 8.

-I was one of those who wasn't sure about kids either. I'm not sure when my opinion changed but now that I have 2, I want 2 more.

-I also love Harry Potter and almost any show about the supernatural or vampires.

-I love video games. We have a Gamecube and a PS2 that never gets played. I also have a Nintendo 64, an original Nintendo, a Sega and an old Atari that are all packed away.

Let's see - there's nothing very exciting about me that you don't already know.

     - I was once fishing in the Keys with 4 guys from college.  I had never been bonefishing before but I was the only one to catch one that day.  A big one too - somewhere aorund 11 pounds I think!  The boys were impressed and jealous.  My friend (owner of the boat) told the story as part of our wedding toast.

     - My uncle is a congressman

     - I used to be part of the BMIFC (Barry Manilow international fan club) when I was in elementary school.  I'd make up dances to his songs.  I sent him a letter that asked him to come to my house if he was in Boston - on the back I had a big heart with AV + BM.  Luckily my dad was smart enough to photocopy it before he sent it so I could have it when I was older!
