Hi, just found this site and registered. I just did my first triathlon - Blenheim sprint - and decided that I'm going to do some more.

Great! Obviously you had fun, there are plenty of events around!

Where are you based?

LOL, it wasn't fun at the time - the run nearly killed me - but I felt great afterwards.

I'm close to Oxford - so probably as good a location as any for events.

Nice one. Blenheim was my first event in 2008 and had same experience on the run. It hurt.

got hooked though.

Helloooo,

Based in Bromsgrove, been doing tri's for a few years but this year got my first placings!

Now in the 40-44 age group managed a third at Blenheim  (over all 29th) and 3rd in Property Triathlon at Dorney lake (40 - 49  group) over all 12th.

Something seems to be going right at the moment, maybe old age is suiting me ;o)

Oh doing Ironman uk in a couple of weeks.

Hi Scott - I'm based just up the road in Boroughbridge - loads of really good local events to aim for - I'm involved with the Ripon Triathlon which is a really popular Olympic race, but local starters for you might be at Allerthorpe (open water) or Beverley which are sprints, or a little further north is the Cleveland Sprint (Acklam) and Short Course (my fave at Catterick) - also an early season spring in Tadcaster.

Hi I'm Mark and live in Knebworth, Hertfordshire. I was originally from Essex, and have occasionallly swum at Redrick's Lane, Harlow; in fact I may do the standard Aquathlon (1500m swim/ 10k run) on the 17th Sep being held there.

I did my first/only Tri in June, a sprint at Henley-on-Thames. I was placed 51st of 221(ish), 10th of 47 in my agegroup (see my photos for pics). Like others, I suffered on the run, but loved it all the same.

I'm doing an Oly on 25th this month at Dorney Lake, Windsor. Can't wait!

Hi,

After an 18 year break I'm back into competitive racing and managed 2 races this year. My goal for next year is to take it to a new level and be a bit more scientific, rather than just do what works.

So hopefully I'll be filling in the logs and blogs and sticking to the training plan although I'm a bit daunted by the prospect of getting out there 6 days a week!

Cheers!

Rob

I did the London Supersprint Tri in 2008 on minimal training and loved it!  4 years later after a nasty bike crash, I'm back for more. The crash means I'm starting from absolute basics - I'm a poor swimmer, stronger cyclist and back of the pack runner. If you measure success by how far you have come then I'm a bucket load of potential.

My 23 yr old daughter, a newbie runner and cyclist but fantastic swimmer has thrown down the gauntlet and said come on Mum, come and do the Seaford sprint Triathlon so I don't have to be last.  Just the challenge I need Undecided

Lisa

PS - I live Kent and work in central London.

Sadly I'm moving back to the US at the end of April so no more UK triathlons for me.

My whole company team is doing the Dorney Lake Tri on May 27.

You mean they are letting you back in the country ? At least you will get a decent summer then.
