Comments: Rainy and nasty but we were there. 1/2 mile in my left calf cramped and my gait went to hell. Told my friend to go on w/o me. I wasn't sure if I was going to finish but it got to certain pain level and I figured if it didn't get any worse I'd finish, maybe w/o walking. Seemed all my other muscles tightended as I compensated for the calf, the cold nasty rain didn't help either. I just wanted it to be over. 34 minutes at the 4 mile marker and I realized my time didn't suck as bad as I felt. Picked up the pace but after a few hundred yards my calf revolted. If I wasn't gonna walk I had to back it down. Lumbered accross the finish line w/o walking. What would you do differently?: stay in bed Post race
Warm down: grabbed my friend and bolted home What limited your ability to perform faster: injury, poor training. lesson learned, came back to hard and fast from my previous injury just to do this race. classic mistake: increased my mileage to fast. Event comments: Not a banner end to the 06 season but I'm banking on 07 being dryer :) Time to rest, rehab and regroup. Last updated: 2006-11-22 12:00 AM
