Total Time = 2h 07m 33s
Overall Rank = /

Age Group Rank = 233/500
Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 5a.m. and drove down to Atlanta from Alpharetta. Ate a Kashi bar and drank some water.
Event warmup:

Still dark when I got to the race start. Stretched a little and then tried to find a place in the rather large crowd of 8,000.
Run
  • 2h 07m 33s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 09m 44s  min/mile
Comments:

Overall went well. I took 2 minuntes off my SeaCoast half time which was good. Probably could have run the marathon and been fine, but my wussy-ness and Chris' encouragement persuaded me not to try.
What would you do differently?:

Run the marathon.

Next year I'm doing it -- no excuses.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and drank water. Got my little food bag and had some cheese and crackers.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

As always, I stil need to loose weight. The weight hurts me the most when running.

Event comments:

It was Thanksgiving day and there were still lots of volunteers. Not much as far as post-race activites, but none were promised and it was understandable given the fact that it was a holiday.

Great job on your half marathon! I am training for one in February and enjoyed checking out your race times and blog. I saw that you were doing the weight loss challenge (although on a different team, I was spying on the competition!). Anyhow, you have done quite a few races in the last few months and looks like you are doing great on increasing your time. I hope I can continue to improve on my speeds like you have!
