Comments:

I started out just running a normal pace to see how I felt. After mile 2 I noticed I was doing about a 10 min mile pace. This is a little faster than what I have been training at and faster than I really wanted to run today. So I decided to run at that pace and do a one minute walk every two miles. About mile 3 I realized I had lost my Hammer Gel as some point. So I really started noticing that the aid stations had no solids or gels, all they had was poweraid and water. I finished the HEED I started with around mile six. I alternated poweraid and water, which worked out very good for the race. When I saw my life saver wife, I had her get me a bananna and my extra hammer gel bottle, as I was getting REAL hungry. On the second loop they were at least handing out candy, so I decided to experiment with the "Mary Janes" and "Tootsie Rolls". They gave me the much needed boost of energy between miles 20 and 26. I ended up finishing the race 20 minutes faster than last weeks marathon. Last week if I hadn't encountered the GI issues I probably would have had a similar finsihg time.
What would you do differently?:

Train for the race. Performance was within my expectations based on training volume and intensity leadinig up to the race and considering this was the third marathon in one month's time.

Event comments:

This race had some good swag. A Brooks Race dry fit run shirt, a Brooks dry fit finisher's shirt, a pair of very funky De-Feet socks with that crazy chicken on them, and a pair of Spenco sandals
