Well, there it is. The magic number -- the number I've been working on for the last two years, ever since I ran a 24:30 5K and said to myself, "you know, I bet I could do that in under twenty minutes." Yup, I ran a sub-20 5k, it's my PR, and it happened at the smallest, dinkiest little race ever, and I STILL didn't win my age group. There was a 37 year old who ran an 18 minute 5k, and a herd of high school cross country kids running in the 15-16 minute range.

Sigh. Whatever. Now I can sit on my butt for a couple of weeks of the off-season, and do it with pride. I hit my goals for this year; now it's time to plan for the next.
What would you do differently?:

Bring the right gloves. It waspretty damn cold for the first 18 minutes of this 20 minute run.

Sweet!! I remember when I finally broke 20 again last year, it was a great feeling. Congrats on the superb run!

And remember, it isn't the size of the race, it's the performance you put in it.
