Comments:

I trained hard for this race and the results showed. My game plan was to start with an effort which I could maintain for 10 miles, then kick up the pace on the final 5k. I was able to do this and ran faster than I expected.
What would you do differently?:

I achieved a PR. Took 7 mins off my last 1/2 marathon time. I would not change any thing for this race. But if I want to maintain this speed, I need to continue with speed and tempo work

Warm down:

walk

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Me. I'm not fast

Event comments:

Fiesta Bowl Half has been around for years. The event was small, well organized. I would participate again

Sounds like your training cycle for this race went really well. I suspect you ran a negative split and with a strong finish, made for a perfect race.

A 7 Minute PR is huge. Half Marathons are tough races to improve since they are run at about the LT. This seems to suggest that your training cycle provided some big improvements in your effective LT.

I bet you will be hitting the running calculators and re-adujusting your training paces at some point really soon

Good On Ya

Congrats on the PR! I got a 1/2mary PR myself on Thanksgiving and couldn't agree more: It's great to have your hard work payoff on raceday. .

Congrats again.
