Hello everyone,

Have a good slow run Linda and enjoy the symphony. I have my first tri next weekend too!! Keep us posted on how you're feeling about it as the week progresses. You're going to be awesome.

As for carboloading, that's still often viewed as the dinner of choice before a race. My tri club always goes out for pasta the night before. If I'm cooking for myself I often have stir fry with brown rice and a little protein or pasta with a little protein, something along those lines.

The biggest key is to eat something you've eaten before and that you know won't upset your stomach, especially with a trail run where bathrooms may not be readily available. And maybe get up early enough and get breakfast and everything else in early enough if the pipes need to be cleaned you'll have time to do it before the race starts (sorry if that's a little too blunt). If you're going to try a new meal, try it when you have a training session the next day and not a race. In my humble opinion anyway.

K.

Hey ladies. I had a great weekend of training up in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Lots and lots and lots of hills. I hope all of you had a great weekend as well.

I will be traveling this weekend for Alcatraz so I will try to check in on everyone, but if I'm out of touch I'll still be thinking of you and hoping your training is going awesome.

Hello Ladies,

I'm on my way home from Alcatraz. I survived. What an amazing race. The race report is up in my log if you want to read it. A couple of us have races coming up in the next couple of weeks. Linda next weekendand Cindy and I the weekend after that. How is everyone feeling?

Jennifer, Stine, Sanja, have any of you found a race close by you might consider signing up for? They are really fun and you'd have a blast doing it. C'mon, you know you want to.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Please check in and let us know how you're doing.

Kelly

Hello all... yes, my second (and shortest) race of the year is tomorrow. It's part of the Kansas City Corporate Challenge, basically a two-month long competetion between a lot of companies in the metro area. They have everything from bowling & darts to triathlon, 5k, swimming, track & field to tennis to tug-of-war. It should be pretty fun. My company has won our division for the last two years so we're going for the three-peat this year and I'm doing my part. I'm a little worried about the run b/c my foot's been hurting, but that part is only 2.4 miles, so it should be ok. Plus I do need to start running again. I have an Olympic distance tri a week from today so I need to get this resolved. I'm going to pick up a new pair of running shoes today, so hopefully that will help!

Hope you all have a good weekend!

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to check in. Linda has another race on her schedule for Saturday and I know Pink (Cindy) and I are doing one out in Colorado. It is Cindy's (and my mom's) first race so I'm excited I'll get to be there for it. Good luck to both of you!!! You'll do great and I can't wait to hear all aobut it.

Sorry I've sort of checked out on the forum ladies. I've traveled four out of the last five weekends, with three of those weekends involving actual triathlons and I finally just got back from the last of them after midnight last night. Hopefully things will calm down now and I can try to be a better mentor.

I'm posting to wish Cindy congratulations on completing her first triathlon. You did awesome Cindy. You were fast, strong, and still lookin' so good on that 5k at the end in ninety degree heat with no shade (I flew to Colorado and did it with her and my mom who also completed her first triathlon so I know just how bad it was). Having done a few races now, I can tell you that was a really brutal run and you did awesome at it. I'm so impressed and I can't wait to see how you do in your next race!!!

Hope everyone else is well. Please let us know how you're doing.
