Pleased with my first tri swim, was quite anxious before race as this was the only unknown for me.

Didn't change out of swimsuite, used running shoes so no shoes connected to bike. Took my time making sure I had everything before leaving, as it was very hot and I had my water/gatorade bottles in a cooler.

Running is my strength, but with the heat it was brutal. Again, just like the bike it was difficult to know how much to push myself without bonking. Afterall, I wanted to finish after training for so long and having the goal for over a year. I actually had to walk a couple of times because the humidity combined with the heat was so intense.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The high heat - 95 to 97 degrees and high humidity - 95% inhibited my speed and ability to push myself.
