Pre-race routine:

We stayed at the Linderhof in Leaveworth. Our had our pre-race dinner at Visconti's. In the morning, we donned our Halloween outfits, had a light breakfast at the hotel, checked out, and drove to the race site.
Event warmup:

Kept moving and jogging in place to keep warm - it was COLD and Windy.

Comments:

Not too much was flat on this course, most was uphill. It was great to run on a path vs. street. The fresh mountain air and scent of the pine trees was awesome.


What would you do differently?:

My left hip became very sore. Things I need to do: improve core strength and run tall.

Warm down:

Tina had finished ahead of me. We stretched and waited for Vinette to finish. Vinette usually finishes ahead of me, but she was feeling the vino from the night before.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Poor run form that led to my sore hip.

Event comments:

I loved the small town feel of this race. Lots of little kids did the 1K and 2K races. Everyone seemed to know each other.

Everyone got a pumpkin. Tina and Vinette finished first and second in their age group and so they won pumpkin pies from the local bakery.

I am definitely doing this race again.
