I really did enjoy the BT group ride last weekend (12/30) and would like to have another ride/run (or both) if anyone is interested. I propose a group training on Saturday jan 20th. I'm planning on running about 15K that day and will be open to just about any easy distance afterwards. I would also like to propose that we meet for the ride at 11:30am or so and be rolling around 12pm (noon). As for the run I'll probably start running about 10am.

Any takers for any part of this?

Sounds good to me.. (The ride). The ride was a lot of fun this past weekend....even though I joined in late. I will make the long drive...it is worth it.

Isn't that the same day as RunOn's "Too Cold to Hold" 5k / 15k race?  Not that it should necessarily interfere.  I just saw "15k" in your post and it made me remember this.

(Not that I'm likely to make either the race or the group training.  I've got family coming to town.)

Don't know. I tried to schedule this group thing so that it was the weekend before the reverse tri. Doubt I would be able to do the 15K in Dallas anyway - saving for the next three marathons.

BTW - we can meet at the Radio Shack cul-de-sac if no one disagrees.

I'm interested!!  I'm not exactly sure of the location.  Can someone give me an address?  Or, directions coming from mid-cities?

I'll just be in for the ride.   Look forward to it!

The cul de sac ends on the north end of Taylor St. in downtown Ft. Worth. I normally take Belknap, west into downtown, then make a right onto Taylor (street between Radio Shack and the court house). Go down the hill to the cul de sac. Don't worry about the meters, they are turned off on the weekend.

Ah... sounds interesting.

It would be a 1 hour drive me to attend though... and I can't really justify driving that far, unless we are doing some serious miles (40+) on the bike.

Thanks for the invitation! Hopefully I will meet up with you one of these days.

It is worth the drive, just to be in the company of other BT'rs... Maybe next time.

Did someone say +40miles??? You know that can easily be done. But I do understand about the hour drive for just an hour ride. I'm thinking of perhaps organizing another ride in Feb over in Grapevine. Not sure of a distance, but we can make it worth while for the drive.

In on my earlier post. For those that want more distance I would like to see how far the north trail goes. I'm thinking that we can go the south route until 183 then turn around (like last time). Then for those wanting more distance we can ride north until the end. I estimate it is probably another 7 - 10 miles one way.

Takers?

Sounds ok with me.....I can always do a 180 if I start feeling bad... I need to be adding some distance to the rides anyway..

Well, Kenny has been kind and cool enough to say that I can ride with him. It sounds like we are going to get there early to ride alongside Mark as he runs. I will get some extra miles in that way.

I hope the weather holds!

OK, I'm a complete dork.

I finally looked at my calendar... and realized that I fly out to Walt Disney World on 1-20-07! DUH! How do I forget something like that?

Well, it is a work meeting. Which sounds *cool*... but when they took us to Las Vegas in January 06... we had meetings scheduled from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM. SERIOUSLY! So, I basically saw nothing of Las Vegas.

Therefore, I am not really *excited* about going to Disney... since I won't get to see or do anything... and that's more depressing than exciting if you ask me.

Kirk: When Jill and I rode the trail it was a bit over 40 miles.  We went out from the FW Zoo to Benbrook trailhead, turned around and rode all the way out into Gateway Park (we left some miles for expansion), then back home via the zoo (we're only a mile from the zoo, which accounts for 2 of the trip).

We're looking forward to whatever distance we go.

Just took a look at Accuweather forecast for Saturday. Looks like it will be clear enough to ride - though a bit chilly. I'm still planning on going. I hope to see a few people show. Dress warm.

Don't know who's "in charge" (Kirk?) but the weather is now calling for more rain/sleet on Saturday and only 40s.  Go ahead and call me a wuss, but we may have more fun on a slightly warmer day.  (Damn, I must be converting to Texan, either that or I'm getting old - whining about the weather).

Yeah, I'm watching it. The biking thing sounds worse by the minute. I'll probably still run though.

What time are you planning on running? Where are you starting? Anyone out there interested in trying for about a 6 mile run at a 10 - 10:30 pace? If the weather is crappy, I am going to make myself go (unless it is icy, then I will go inside), but I need some extra motivation to get out in this stuff.
