Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 3:20, went to 7-11, picked up Adam, Fit, and Trixie and headed to the race. Jeff dropped us off (thanks Jeff!). Fit and Trixie looked freaking fantastic in their costumes!!!
Event warmup:

Walked to the start, maybe 20 minutes, with Adam. Ran into MomX3 in the corral.
Run
  • 3h 16m 23s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 14m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

I stayed with Adam the entire race and we had tons-o-fun!! He was having a rough day, so I just tried to be supportive and distract him from the pain. We started out fine, but within a mile or so he developed a nasty side stitch that never really went away. At about mile 9 or so, don't remember exactly, he started having cramping problems and that was really tough. I felt so bad for him. But in between these problems we had lots of laughs! THE funniest thing was when we first entered the Magic Kingdom. There was a line of spectators and Adam told me we needed to give them all high-fives, so we do that as we are running past. Only problem was the one girl (about 10 years old) that didn't put her hand up and Adam smacked her in the face! We both busted a gut laughing.
We managed to beat the guy walking with the 2 canes, but the lady walking with her baby in a front carrier beat us, I think. LOL!
Adam is a very funny guy, so this was a great day for me, and it was the perfect pace for me to run so I could do the marathon the next day. Can't wait to do the trail 1/2 with him in a few weeks!!
What would you do differently?:

Take salt tablets for Adam!

Warm down:

Got my medal! Got some ice bags so I could immediately start icing my legs.

Event comments:

Loved racing through Disney. I have already registered for Goofy again next year.

Im not sure if I said this yet: Thank You!! I had as much fun as I had pain.  Running 13.1 miles and b!tch slapping little girls was so much fun. Thank you for everything!

Now Rob needs to run a 1/2 marathon.

You were a great friend to run with Adam.  I saw the guy with two canes and the mom with the baby too - not sure if I beat them or not!  Did you see the Jeepfleeb stunt double?  Some guy was running with a big flag!

I can't believe you already signed up for Goofy next year!  You are goofier than me and Rob!  You wouldn't catch us within 100 miles of that place next year.  Okay I say that now - but I'm still in pain.

You are an awesome run friend for helping your friend through a rough day.  Congrats on your great accomplishment.
