Ok, I know there are numerous IMAZ threads out there, but I wanted to start this one just for the fact that I can track it everytime I go to my training log.  Hope everyone is doing good and getting ready for the big dance.  My training is just beginning to really ramp up...hopefully I am not too far behind all of you.

Let me here from ya!

Before we know it we'll be floating around in the water waiting for the horn to sound.  Crazy!  I can't wait.

Very nice swim!  You're going to rock IMAZ.  I'm hoping to get out of the water at 1:20ish. +/-.

I am tying a rope around Bryan's ankle so I can draft off of him. No fair... you are going to have a big head start on me.

I did a 2 hour run today and...

Pearl Izumi is sending a pair pre-production 2007 Tri-Fly bike shoes to me. Sweet!

Hey, are you going to do the havasu race in March? I just signed up as a nice warm up prior to IM.

I am not sure... hadn't put much thought into it. Looks like that would hit right as the taper is going to start. My schedule has a 1 hour 30 minute run for that day.... could substitute a Oly.

I was thinking about the Bartlett Lake Olympic, but that is a scheduled 6 hour bike followed by a 25 minute run day. Training will be more important that day.

I wasn't going to do the race, but my coach felt it would be good to blow out the cob webs and go through a race 3 weeks out from IM so now it's part of my training schedule.

Ok I'm going to start training for real tomorrow.  HA HA Seriously I sprained my back Dec. 04 and haven't biked or ran.  But by the end of the week i should be at 1.5 hours run and 2 hours on the bike.  I'll build from there with a modified Gale Bernhard 13 week plan.  Swimming 4 km swims 3 or 4 times a week so no worries on that.  Hell didn't train much last year and still finished but prefer not to walk the last 6 miles this year.  Now if the damned ice would melt off the roads.  Who's organizing the BT pre-race bash?

Well, I got accepted as a motorcycle volunteer, so I'll be there on the road with you guys. We have a training ride (on the motorcycles) in a couple of weeks. It'll be a great experience for me as I have not done a tri yet. I'm registered for Deuces Wild HIM in June and hope to get 1-2 shorter races in before then.

Happy training days guys.

Update:

I just got back from the Ironman AZ practice ride (motorcycle volunteers) I may get to carry the GPS and lead either the men's or women's leader (will that be one of you folks?). Very cool as that is the only way I will ever share the lead pack with the elites.

So, how did you all do? Including volunteers...

I was tired after 3 laps on the bike course on the motorcycle. My shoulders were aching and my legs were stiff. I can't imagine what the riders felt like.

I stuck around cheering at the bike-run transition for awhile, then I went to the finish line and watched the first winners come across (everyone that crossed the finish line was a winner in my mind). I spent too long in the sun and managed to give myself a mild case of sun/heatstroke and by the time I got home was not able to eat supper and was in bed by 8:30. I did spend over 12 hours out there at the races.

OK, what about the rest of you folks? I saw a LOT of flat tires and people told me that it was a higher than usual number of flats. Did you guys experience the same? What was the cause, any guesses? Did that wind suck on the bike even worse for you than it did for me on the moto?

Talk to me people, I want the details.
