Veteran 216  Columbus, Ohio |  Subject: Anyone thinking of doing the Disney Goofy Challenge in Jan 2008?I know registration is open for the Disney's Marathon Jan 2008 and the Goofy Challenge and I really really want to give it a shot. After reading everyone's race report how can you not want to do it? So, curious if anyone else was planning on running? From what I remember, the Goofy Challenge seems to close earlier than the marathon and the half...any suggestions when I should register by?

The sooner the better. The Goofy Challenge is limited and it sells out quickly. We have an organization wide Staff Conference that ends that weekend in Disney, so there are several of us doing one or the other - some may be doing both. |

Its gonna be a blast. From what Ive heard about the reg for Goofys challenge is that it fills up within a few months and is limited to 3000 reg's. I would sign up asap, if possible! Did the full in 2006, Goofy 2007 and already sent the registration in for Goofy 2008. 2008 is the 15th anniversary of the WDW Marathon so they're making a bigger deal about the full. Also next year is the first year w/ dedicated Goofy shirts. Disney does nice long sleeve technical shirts for the races. |

I definitely won't do the Goofy, but I'm considering the marathon. A marathon would be a cool way to celebrate my 40th birthday, which will fall 5 days before the race. I'm not gonna stand for some stupid-a$$ surprise party where people give you stupid-a$$ old-man gifts like a cane, reading glasses, Viagra... Not that anyone would do this, but you get the idea. |

The race is already 60 % full and will fill by the end of Jan! Don't wait! Jon(RD) agrees with my prediction. Last year it didn't fill until 6/13. It is way ahead of schedule.
