A run short has two layers and my run pants have two layers, how much heat do want down there? I'll stay away from any comments about burning wood. ;-) There is your problem, running tights, Mary. You need a good pair of running pants. More room = more warm air = a warm little Mr Johnson. Problem solved. |

Any good recommendations? I'd like to keep it economical. thanks!! PS - edit - if you are trying to keep it economial stick a sock on your little man to keep him warm! That should work. :-) Heh. That's some funny shizit, right there. I don't care who you are. For runs under a couple hours, I'm OK in cotton. Over a couple hours, try wearing your jammers or speedo. Works like a charm, no new equipment. And they're stretchy, so there's prolly room for a sock for your little man...Heh. LISA?!!! Why do you guys wear underwear when you run? A run short has two layers and my run pants have two layers, how much heat do want down there? I'll stay away from any comments about burning wood. ;-) With running shorts? Boxers only. It's the trip-hop look. Single layer tights / thin tights in below 20 degree temps with wind? 2nd layer, brother. Sock, jammers, girlfriend, drawers, or whatever, you gotta have coverage. The alternative is less than appealing. |

New user 115 Rhode Island | Subject: RE: need non-cotton underwear recs At my local Wal-Mart they have Starter brand Dri-Star poly boxer briefs for $9. I can't tell them apart from my $25 Under Armour ones except the Starter material is a tad thinner. As a side note, without boxer briefs, there's not enough support with just the mesh or fabric liners in running short for me. But I don't like the 3 layers of boxer-briefs, liner, and shorts- so my solution was to cut the liners out of all my running shorts. Problem solved. |

New user 22 Sioux Falls, SD | Subject: RE: need non-cotton underwear recs For everyday, those of us with thunder thighs where something between the upper inner thigh is a requirement, I wear either UA, Starter (Wal-Mart) brand and have had excellent luck with both. Most of my UA is (are?) 3-5 years old, catch them on clearance or at an outlet when they get under $20, they last a good long while. The starter have been equally as good, except the cut is a little beefier in the hind end, a bit more than I need but I have to fit them to my thighs, else the 6" roll up, the 9" stay in place but are tight. For running, the UA material in their compression shorts used to be a bit too slick and they would move around, Nike pro combat do not have that issue, and I've got a Wal-Mart no name pair that work just fine, but a bit like a cheap hotel (no ballroom) Running in jammers... that would be a bad idea (for me) might start a fire....
