Subject: Help choosing a set of budget aero wheels
Hey guys! This is my 3rd year on BT, but my first time on the forums. Just became a Silver Member to I can bump up my training.

Anyway, down to the meat. I raced the past 2 years on a basic Specialized Allez road bike. I kept it stock my first year. Last year, I upgraded to 105 Hollowtech 2x10, some Ritchey DS Pros, and a Deda stem and bars. Getting the weight down was really nice for my sprints. This year, I'm building a tri bike. I got a great deal on a 2005 Specialized Transition Comp frame. I'm using several parts off my old bike, and I have new stuff coming in. My concern is my wheels. I know that aero wheels can make a HUGE impact on the speed of my sprints as well as helping me with my endurance as I progress towards an olympic distance. (My goal is to do my first half in 2 years).

Anyway, long story short, can someone give me a few budget aero wheel suggestions? As much as I'd love to get into a set of 404s, it's just not going to happen this year. My brother has a set of Reynolds Aero Race (the good ones) on the way. I'm anxious to see how they perform, especially for what he paid. The Easton Tempest II look nice, but they're still a little pricey. I'm looking at $500 or less.

Thanks for he help, happy training!

Brady

You may want to check out the neuvation m28 aeros with are around $250 and the FSA RD-600 which will run you around $580. Also getting a wheels cover for the rear wheel for about $60-70 may also be a good option. Just some suggestions.

Nice, I like the FSAs.

I know they're great, but I'm not a fan of discs. I realize that they're the ultimate in aero, but if I can't use it in Kona, I don't want to use it at all. Sounds silly, just a little quirk. Thanks for the links, though!

Rear wheel disk cover from wheelbuilder.com. Less than $100 bucks and you can use it on your existing wheel.
