Do they "die"? Reason I ask - mine has a hard time tracking on my treadmill - it used to work fine. I am wondering if its died or needs a charge etc....or am I doomed to buy a new one?

The battery will slowly drain and will need to be replaced if you have the model that allows this.  However you will have to buy a new one if it can't be replaced. about $30.00-$40.00

What model strap do you have? Polar makes both straps that allow for battery replacement and those that do not. I need to change mine about every 9mo.

Are you only finding it's giving you trouble on the treadmill? If so, it might be the treadmill that has the problem. The treadmills at my gym are polar-ready, so I can see my HR on the treadmill display the entire time. Some of the treadmills work great, but other times I get on a 'mill and the HR is completely off. It's not reading what my watch reads and sometimes it's reading numbers that I know are definitely wrong (i.e., impossible). You mentioned the treadmill specifically, so that's the only reason I am bringing it up.

Good luck!
