Count me in in the "get your head checked" catagory... I'll be there w/o a wetsuit, and smiling (burns let calories to smile then to grimmice!). Osprey Sprint last October in the bay was dang cold, so I'm banking on a little experience from that. I *will* have something to sit on during T1; I recall how the cold really messed with my balance after standing up and running through transition, if anyone else plans on being crazy as well.

LET'S GO POLAR BEAR TRIATHLETES!

You're crazy man. The cold plunge at the local gym is 53 degrees, and my extremities are numb after 2 minutes in it. Neoprene boots anyone?
Good luck and I hope you're in my age group :D

It is supposed to be low 70's and sunny on Saturday so hopefully that warms up the water a little bit. Mid 70's race day.

No wetsuit = crazy....I like it!

I will be in my wetsuit and still freezing.

i'll be there in a sleeveless wetsuit and doubled up swim caps over a neoprene cap. good times!

i'm not planning on wearing a top under the wetsuit, and i'll just take a few extra seconds to dry off after the swim so that getting the shirt on isn't so difficult.

the forecast is now for a high of 74 friday and 77 sunny. the sun should feel good after the swim.

OK -- great incentive to really go hard in the swim. I'll be in the "sleeveless wetsuit, two caps" crowd.

My first tri of the year, hoping for a good result. I'll be riding the black and red Lemond with the matching red and black tri-wear ensemble. ; )

Just wanted to say, for the record - been there, done that (WITHOUT the wetsuit) - I believe I was one of 2 in the entire field... what a title to hold!

What a BEAUTIFUL day! I look forward to reading everyone's writeups once the results are posted. Great job everyone! ~Joe

Anyone know if there was an official race photographer on-hand at the race this year? Just curious to scope them out, if available. Thanks!

yep, here's their website:
https://www.birdseyeview.net/cgi-local/store/imageFolio.cgi?direct=T...

looks like they'll have pictures up later in the week...hopefully setup will have results posted before then.

i did the 3Sports tri last year, and they had results posted the same day. not sure why the delay in posting results for events this year. oh well---the technical tee is nicer than the regular cotton tee we got for the 3sports tri.

Dang. That sucked. Why does running and hills have to be a part of triathlons?!? At least the Colonial Beach OLY run portion is flat as a board. And the water will be warmer

I don't remember any downhill except the one going into T2: that little off-road portion with bike shoes on. What is up with that?

I am getting so much done at work today.

Ooopps - sorry to everyone in my age group (M 30-34).....did you notice how everyone who finished the swim in our age group had a slow time = my fault. I lead the pack, miscounted the big floating balls and went way too far....I looked back and noticed everyone in my age group following me and noticed that we swam straight and were supposed to take a right! - yes completely my fault. I could not see anything and just kept swimming. I know I did at least an extra 100 yards, maybe more. Oh well my time was good in the swim considering I did an extra 100 (11 minutes) and then everyone passed me in the bike...but hey at least I was leading my age group until the first mile of the bike! It was nice to meet so many great people and the volunteers and police were wonderful!
