Subject: Running Shoe Store
I keep reading that I need to go a reputable running store to be fitted for shoes. Any suggestions in or near Knightdale/Raleigh. I don't have runner friends in town and every store seems to have minum wage teenagers working.

I'm running in $40 shoes from Target now. They probably have 200 miles on them so far and I've just now noticed some occasional knee pain. Nothing close to serious yet.

I'm cheap, but I realize great shoes are cheaper than knee surgery.

Thanks,
Mark

Inside Out Sports has always done me well for all items.  Unless I knew exactly the size and shoe I was looking for I wouldn't go anywhere else. I am sure that there are shoe stores in the area that are as good or better that others can recommend.

There is a man who works at Omega Sports (North Hills on Six Forks) who is the expert of all experts when it comes to feet and running shoes...I think his name is Mike or Dave or something common like that. He is awesome. I had been running in a shoe that I got at Dick's....it killed my arches. I brought the shoes into this guy and he told me what I needed and he was exactly right. Great store and great people.

There is a Fleet Feet over near Wade avenue, I think.  I just bought my new shoes at Inside Out Sports, yesterday.

Some dick's sporting goods, like the one at triangle town center have a little self serve foot analysis.  It may not be perfect, but it is there.  I did this for fun a few months ago, and it nailed my foot type and shoe recommendation.

Thanks for all the advice. I bought my new shoes at Running Outfitters. That little store was packed! I think I got good shoes for a good price. They are half the weight of my cheap Target shoes. I may give that machine a shot, just to see if it says the same thing.

I plan to wear the new shoes on my short runs for now, until they're broken in.

Thanks again,
Mark
