Comments:

The goal was to get Sue (and me) to the finish in 2:30 with as much fun as possible. Mission accomplished!! Rick, Jess, Shaun and I serenaded Sue and the rest of the runners with the entire soundtrack of Grease, and other obnoxious songs. We even took requests for Jimmy Buffet.

We saw Christine somewhere around mile 6ish I think with some heavenly Diet Coke. THANKS CHRISTINE!!

Towards mile 7, it was down to Shaun, Sue and I. Shaun and I kicked up Baby Got Back intervention. It was quite impressive, if I do say so myself!!

Saw Jeff (Q) at some point around mile 9ish and whooooooop whooooooped him on his marathon PR!! CONGRATS JEFF!!

Wore my brand spankin' new Asics Kinsei, with absolutely NO blisters or issues. A little sheering on my right foot, but pain was gone by evening. WOO FREAKING HOO!! A race without blisters?? Unheard of!! And with virgin shoes! I took them outta the box that morning!!
What would you do differently?:

Absolutely nothing!! It was an awesome day!!

Warm down:

It took exactly 15 seconds for me to go from warm to freezing my a$$ off. The wind picked up and I was so cold I was blue and shivering. Congratulated Betsy on an awesome PR, hugs all around and went to get some warm, dry clothes on!!

I really just don't know how pushing over that row of portapotties didn't make your race report.  But whatever.

Congrats on the PR and blister-free peformance, and as always, it was loads of fun.

Wow, I've never PR'ed while singing Grease tunes and shoving over porta-potties. Well done, my girl!

Nice job on the PR.  sounds like you guys had a ton of fun.   Next year plan on doing the Gainesville marathon.  I'll probably do the half again.
